So was this Jeff Irelands best draft?

Best draft Ireland has had? No doubt in my mind. Grade Him.

Yep this is his best. That's not saying a hell of a lot but I can't complain too much over what we did. Whether or not it's good enough depends on Tannehill.

Best draft Ireland has had? No doubt in my mind. Grade Him as far as his BEST draft.

I've seen multiple of these draft polls. Ireland deserves a "B" for making decisions predicated on value.

However worth mentioning is the entire college scouting dept. A round of applause to miami's regional and national scouts

I'll give him some credit for this draft! Didn't expected this good so I was pleasantly surprised.

So far, easily yes. If Tannehill ends up being good then this will be a major success. As far as WR, we must be waiting until next year when Tannehill might be ready to take over

It really does look that way. Amazing how the best 2 drafts Miami has had, have been Parcells free....things to think about.

I have not been a fan of his but I really liked this draft......I like the Tannehill pick. Martin was a 1st round talent that we got in round 2. Egnew is my favorite pick....Miller was a late 1st to early 2 round talent and we got him in the 4th round.....liked the other kid from the U and one of those 2 QR's could make the team as well.....very solid with lots of value imo.

Ozzy rules!!

Why do you like Egnew, Danny? I know we need another able body down the seam as well as being red-zone threat while the fact Fasano is in contract year made TE a priority for this draft.

I love the possibilities. Solid. Let's all chip in for a "Extend Ireland Now" airplane banner for the first game, haha.

Think this clearly shows is that Ireland is a solid GM and now that Parcells is out of the way he can be left to do his thing. He did draft a load of potential playmakers which is what fans want, but he did also add a starting RT and a few for the D. Always supported Ireland and he has rewarded Ross's faith in him. It obviously won't happen instantly but with Philbin, Sherman, Ireland and co I feel we have the staff to take us far. Last year's draft was good, this year was even better.

Even though final say does come down to Ireland, a lot of the credit should go to Director of Player Personnel Brian Gaine and Director of College Scouting Chris Grier.

These two and the numerous Miami scouts were asked, at the end of the season, to look for players with almost entirely different skill sets.

Without them turning Ireland's eye to the right guys, a good draft is not possible. A good job goes to all in the Miami organization.
