So Who is Still Upset that we didn't trade for Orton??????

I absolutely cannot believe that these nimrods actually get CREDIT for not going through with the Kyle Orton trade. It's not a 'smart move' on their behalf to avoid getting screwed over in a trade, it was common sense.

well TEddy, my spin on this is that if even these Alternative Universal brainiacs thought this deal was folly, then it really musta been.

Still would have liked to trade for orton at the right price. lets not act like henne has been awesome this year, he had one bad game one good game. So if people think Orton is a loser, I guess a guy with a worse starting record like Henne is a bigger loser. Qb's get way too much blame for wins and losses. Yes the qb is the most important man on the field but wins are a team stat and he only controls so much.

Agreed, and I never have a problem with the right price!:)

I think the braniacs would've traded for him had they been able to iron out the contract details. I believe it was the long term commitment that prevented the deal from happening, not the compensation, or the fact that they had Orton 'nailed' for what he actually was.

Neither part of the package makes sense to me from the beginning, simply because the upgrade he provides over Chad Henne is so marginal to begin with, you wouldn't be able to tell it until you're well into the draft and don't have the pick...

Ted I will agree with that statement as long as they get credit when they make good moves. Dansby and Marshall were good moves as far as Ireland is concerned. Thats how I see it and almost all the fans saw it last year. Now Dansby is hurt and Marshall drops passes which tarnishes those moves a bit but Ireland still got the players. Same thing can be said for players like Carpenter, Bess, Wake, Starks, Davis, Smith, Odrick, Fields, Langford, Pouncey and Jake Long. These guys are core players and would/could be studs when coached properly. Players like Clyde Gates, Daniel Thomas, Brian Hartline, Clemons, Misi, Fasano and Incognito are decent role players. Everyone knows that this team is under perfroming and that falls on the coach and some extent the quarterback. Teams like the Jets are overperforming which credit goes to the coach IMO. Henne can be improved on but he is still servicable enought to put a winning product on the field and he could still possibly develop some.

With Orton phins would have one of the games maybe both.

They would probably go 16-0 and then sweep through the playoffs joining the 72 Phins as the only teams with a perfect season. Too bad we don't have Orton.

A front office doesn't get credit for UDFA's that CHOOSE which team they want to go to. Players like Davone Bess, Carpenter, Wake, etc. CHOSE to come to Miami because that's the weakest roster that gives them a chance at sticking. Nor did this front office draft Fields...

Dansby was a no brainer. Fans talked all offseason regarding the fact that Miami had two choices to upgrade the ILB position, which was either to sign Dansby in free agency, or draft Rolando McClain. They don't get credit for obvious moves that even the fanbase already had figured out...

Jake Long was the wrong pick...period. It should've been Matt Ryan.

Davis should've been Clay Matthews, Sean Smith was a good pick (who I also had Miami taking)

Langford was a good pick (who I already had Miami taking), Starks was a good signing, Odrick was a good pick (who I also had Miami taking).

Chris Clemons is irrelevant, there's nothing 'good' about Incognito...

I already had Clyde Gates as a potential steal in the draft, I don't see the genius here.. Daniel Thomas was a back that I liked in the draft, there are numerous threads in the draft forum about this guy, and the improvements that he needs to make in his game to be a NFL back. He has to stop fumbling... period.

I don't agree with taking Mike Pouncey at #15, passing up Ingram, missing on Mallett, and trading up for Thomas.

The mistakes that they've made, and the players that's it's cost Miami, such as Earl Thomas, Dez Bryant, Matt Ryan, Mark Ingram, Ryan Mallett, etc... are going to be more costly than anything they've brought in.

I wanted Peyton Hillis, the brainiacs keep passing him up for Lex Hilliard and Jalen Parmale..

Their free agency and roster moves are brutal 80% of the time, and it's going to cost them their jobs in the end.

The bottom line is, when they actually make what looks like a good move to ME, I'll point it out. I don't slobber over all these overrated/mediocre players that can't win like you do. It's not going to happen.

Don't forget whiffing on Jimmy Graham or any of the NUMEROUS TE's that were available last year and instead choosing to roll with 1 active TE for more than half of the season and STILL not having an athletic guy who can stretch the field at TE.

This team obviously doesn't care about an athletic TE. They are not whiffing on any of these TEs because they don't want any of them.

This has nothing to do with 20/20 hindsight of who they should have picked and could have picked this is about who we have on this team right now and if we can win with these guys. I am saying we can and there are enough good players regarldless of how mad you are at Ireland and company for this team to win now. There are loads of teams that missed on the players you mentioned so Miami is not the only team out there that wiffed on the players you coveted and turned out to be great picks. I would also agree we could have additional players in addition to what we have to make this a better team but I will disagree with any fan that we do not have enough talent on this team to win the majority of games this year even if Henne is marginal. This Texas game was ours on a silver platter with Daniel Thomas racking up the yards he did regardless of the fumble. Our defense folder again and Henne could not complement the help he got from DT's running. I do not want to throw out the baby with the bathwater just because I am a mad fan and IMO I see alot of that thinking on this forum. This roster does not need to gutted does need some tweaking on the offensive line immediatly and a coach that can motivate these guys that if they are unwilling to get the job done he will find someone who does. Thats not happing.

Orton will have a better season than Henne. If you put Henne on the Broncos it would be Henne's worst season by far. If you put Orton on the Dolphins it would be Orton's best year. Our talent on offense is much higher than the broncos. Imagine Henne throwing to Decker and Royal. Please ORTON>henne
