I guess a better way of putting it, why in the world do you have a guy who obviously doesn't know anything about the draft giving a grade for teams? After giving Miami a C-, Matt Millen chimes in and highlights some of the other picks (not even mentioning Lamar Miller by the way) and talks about Miami having a really solid draft. Solomon then turns to Matt and says "Oh, is a C- too low for the Dolphins?" Are you kidding me. Don't give a grade if you have no clue.

Is there a requirement to have 20 analysts give their grades for the draft or the world will end or something?

i agree.....it really rubbed my the wrong way when Solomon was grading our draft. I've come to two conclusions: 1. I hate all analysts and 2. We won't get any respect even if we start winning. When we start winning, they'll spin it in a negative way....just like when we were winning with the Wildcat.

**** them, let's just play football and we will see who is right...............

We have had a lot more positive grades and praises then negative one like Solomon wants to give but it's how it goes it today's media. I feel great about the draft and the direction the team is heading if Solomon and others don't so be it.

The only thing worse than Wilcots as a studio analyst is him as a game analyst. He is completely lost most of the time.

These guys are paid to have opinions...even when the really don't have one. Truthfully, you could find something good or bad to say about every teams draft right now...it's just way to early to grade a draft. Those who knock the Miami draft say Tannehill was a reach; we really won't know for a couple years. Few people thought Tim Couch, Ryan Leaf, Todd Marinovich and Jamarcus Russell were "reaches" but they turned out in hind-sight to be busts. It seems like most draft graders give most teams C- to B+ grades. If you average them all out, most teams get a B or C grade...which is good or average..now that's going out on a limb! Then they hedge their bet and give historically good drafting teams, like The Steelers, Patriots and Green Bay high scores; they are just playing the odds!

I try to understand at this time of year, journalists/analysts need to get viewers and subscriptions. They have a job to do that is not necessarily providing thoughtful insight and analysis. It's really just "entertainment" and I must enjoy it because I watch it all too! The trick is to pull the one or two real pearls of wisdom from the hours of babble that they have to spew to fill airtime. In the meantime, I'm going to be excited for my teams future because we have a new coaching staff, a new QB and, with this much "new" comes hope. Go Phins and let's HOPE Tannehill is all Steven Ross desperately wants him to be!

Networks should also start using Wonderlics as part of their screening and hiring processes.

Predictions in April are useless - I distinctly remember ESPN putting the Bengals at 32 in their preseason power rankings, as did I. I'm a strong believer in that the fans know their team far better than any analyst. We could very easily be that surprise team next year - especially with new offensive weapons and a new head coach, but we shouldn't expect anything but being the butt of jokes until we actually do begin to win more games than we lose.

Power polls are extremely senseless but people get riled up over them anyway.

Good question Solomon, How do you still have a job??

Wilcots graded us poorly solely on the fact we took Tannehill at #8. He said if you take a guy in the top 10 he should be a day 1 starter and personally I agree unless that position is QB...in which case, and I've posted this many times here and before we ever drafted Tannehill, that position is a QB. I have seen a lot more success stories at QB from guys who sat and learned over guys who were thrown into the fire. Even Marino sat the first 5 games or so before he took over...and he was clearly better than David Woodley (I think that was the QB...or was it Don Strock? Dang, I'm getting old, lol).

Anyway, back to Wilcots, he apparently didn't like the Tannehill pick but this is coming from a guy that loves and I mean he LOVES Tim Tebow. Raved about him all last year when he was playing...a QB (if you can call him that) that only completed 46% of his passes and he thought that was pretty good....ok, whatever.

Considering the mess Millen made in Detroit it is of my opinion that he actually does not have a clue.

While I understand where your head is at, I still think you need to look beyond the 1st round and have some knowledge oftthese college players before you start grading ENTIRE drafts for teams. Solomon looked at the fact we "reached" reached on Tanny and didn't take a receiver in the early rounds. In light of that, you get a C-? Look at the other players and the value and than grade a draft. Actually spend some time reading about some of these guys that were drafted before you start spouting off a grade. These guys do nothing in the way of research and think they can simply use their status as a way to report. It's stupid.

Looking at Tanny as a reach will knock the Dolphins draft grade down for some, but to knock it down below a B- even if you think Tanny was a reach is outrageous.
