Some 49er fans aren't happy...poor guys, HA!

Was it just me, or did i keep hearing from steve's dad

"Canton was still a long ways away"....lol, i was like dang man, how many times can you say that...I did think youngs was funnier though

It's called a theme. ;)

Silly little kids. They get all those super bowls and they begrudge us for having the greatest QB of all time. :shakeno:

Marino was a first ballot lock. Young should've retired sooner if he wanted to be respected or run faster so he wouldn't have gotten all those concussions.:D

I don't have a great feeling about this.

I agree, Muck. I don't see why we should go rain on their parade. Young's induction speech was classy and not selfish at all. He preceived himself as a classy guy and he was as well. I hope most fin fans show the same respect to the 49er's fans that we expect from other teams that come here. We can all argue that Marino is better, but there is no need to deminish the accomplishments of another man that got inducted on the same day as Dan "The Man" Marino.

I know we are all extatic, but lets also show the same class as the man we just cheered for getting inducted.

young was a great player and deserved to be there..and yeah he won the ring...

but Marino is the greatest ever and even though he never had the defense to get it done, his popularity is a testament to his greatness...

I think anyone going into the Hall in the same year as Dan was going to be up against hard competition for air time.

I think it is important, however, that as NFL fans we all accept that Steve Young was one hell of a player and deserves to be in the Hall just as much as Dan.

It would've been cool to see a Niners/Phins HOF game....that would have evened the fans out too.

Geez man..have some faith!!

But I agree with them though. I mean after all the stuff that has been posted on this site about the media not respecting Dan (not saying that I dont agree with some of it), imagine how the 49ers fans must feel? If you are not a fan of the NFL and you watched the coverage this week, you woulda thought that Dan Marino was the only one being inducted today.

So true. I was actually hoping that would be the case when the final inducties were announced. That would have made for a great atmosphere.

That's what I thought it was going to be.

Come on man! Think what you want about Steve Young, but a concussion is not something to joke about. DID YOU SEE during that Monday Night game against Arizona Cardinals when Steve Young layed lifeless on the ground for a while? That was one of the scariest things I have seen in a football game.

I like Steve Young... alot. I think he was a very classy guy and a pretty good ESPN commentator, at least better than most of the clowns there. I watch some of his plays and they are outright outstanding. The way he ran was just amazing. He looked almost like Vick with actually an arm! I applauded Steve Young when he spoke on the TV. He went a LONG way to getting to the way he did. I have full respect for him and what he did, especially under Joe Montana's shadow.

Personally, I almost fell asleep listening to Young's dad. He basically started his speech from the day Young came out of the womb to the day Young sat in the HOF chair in front of everyone. Dan's son had a great speech.

me too, it was so boring  , his dad speech was longer than steves

I'm pretty sure the 49er fans were on the other side of the country where they live. Miami to Canton is far, but SF to Canton is really really far. When Kelly got inducted everyone was wearing red and blue too, it's not like it hasn't happened before.

Jim Kelly is in the HOF?? dayum... just goes to prove they'll let anyone in...

I doubt it would've evened out the numbers. The Niners don't have the world-wide popularity of the Dolphins. Maybe in the eighties, with all the bandwagoners, but not now.

If the Hall of Fame was on the west coast, sure. But traveling to Ohio is asking a bit much. Hell, if it was over here, I'd have been there.

This is my first post and I would like to do it on this special day. Living an hour away from the HOF and being able to attend todays ceremony was awesome. I have never been prouder to be a dolfan than today. They showed much respect for Steve as well as the families of the other inductees. 49er fans should be embarrassed, but how can you compete with the best fans and best franchise in football. It was the largest crowd in ceremony history and the Phinfans ROCKED the house!!

I honestly felt that Steve Young had a pretty good speech, but everyone knew that today was Marino's day and that it was well deserved. There's a lot of talk and speculation of whether or not Steve Young should be in the Hall of Fame or if he should have been a first ballot entree. I personally do feel that Steve Young belongs in the Hall Of Fame, whether first ballot or not... I really can't decide on that but he made it, so I send my congrats to him, his family, friends, and all of his fans. He had a pretty good speech, I didn't think his dad's speech was too bad... but like I said today was Dan's day. His son Daniel did a terrific job today and Dan had one of the greatest speeches with an amazing finish. Both men got acknowledged of their careers and that's why they're in the Hall Of Fame. Steve Young has his Super Bowl Ring, but Dan Marino has all the passing records and among the greatest to ever play this game. It was a special day for both men, I congradulate them both, and thank them both for the highlights and the memories.
