Some 49er fans aren't happy...poor guys, HA!

I honestly felt that Steve Young had a pretty good speech, but everyone knew that today was Marino's day and that it was well deserved. There's a lot of talk and speculation of whether or not Steve Young should be in the Hall of Fame or if he should have been a first ballot entree. I personally do feel that Steve Young belongs in the Hall Of Fame, whether first ballot or not... I really can't decide on that but he made it, so I send my congrats to him, his family, friends, and all of his fans. He had a pretty good speech, I didn't think his dad's speech was too bad... but like I said today was Dan's day. His son Daniel did a terrific job today and Dan had one of the greatest speeches with an amazing finish. Both men got acknowledged of their careers and that's why they're in the Hall Of Fame. Steve Young has his Super Bowl Ring, but Dan Marino has all the passing records and among the greatest to ever play this game. It was a special day for both men, I congradulate them both, and thank them both for the highlights and the memories.

kudos...nice post you summed it up....I am also of the belief that Young deserves to be where he is today. It was the right choice. The 4 that we're voted in were deserving and Fritz Pollard was way WAY overdue as one of the pioneers of the game itself and for leading the for black athletes into the NFL.

Dan Marino is THE MAN!

What niners fans couldnt come from CA, Miami to Canton its not like browns fans coming to canton.

And im from CA and this whole week I would swear it was just Young being inducted.

In our papers if its not about the raiders its about the niners, whole front page of sports write up on young and a sentence about him being inducted with marino.

If you are any fan besides raiders or niners and dont live in San Diego those are the only teams you really hear about.

So I really dont see what they are complaining about.

And a funny observance, ESPN is very anti-dolphins, where NFL netowrk is getting sort of pro-dolphins. Its like night and day on the love and positive coverage.

damn...I wish I had the NFL network!

I actually thought the combo of speech's between Dan and his son were the best, Young's dad was boring. The pass to Clayton was classic, and Im really glad to see how many fin fans were in attendance. Goes to show we will show our support for our team any time any place. I think we should be wearing a number "13" hall of fame patch with on our jerseys, along with the 40th anniversary patch. Just a thought...

"Canton was still a long ways away"....lol, i was like dang man, how many times can you say that...I did think youngs was funnier though
damn that's funny man i was thinking the same thing he kept saying canton was still a long ways away i was just balling laughing :D

This is not true. I attended the induction ceremony to see Dan Marino get the recognition that he deserves. I am not going to the HOF game.

Most of the tickets to the HOF game are already sold out because they are owned in advance (similar to season tickets). There were not that many HOF game tickets available. plus, in all reality it is a pre-season game. Yes, it is the first game of the Nick Saban era, but it is still a preseason game.

On the notes regarding Young and the applause he received --- I noticed that every person in the audience was clapping for Steve Young and his father, 49er fans, Dolphin fans, Brown Fans, you name it...

it's their own fault they weren't there to add to young's cheering section.

Personally, I almost fell asleep listening to Young's dad. He basically started his speech from the day Young came out of the womb to the day Young sat in the HOF chair in front of everyone. Dan's son had a great speech.

Exactly how I feel.

It's called a theme. ;)

I thot it was kind of lame personally. Not trying to disrespect him in any way, but it almost seemed "Dr. Seuss-e"

I don't have a great feeling about this.

If you go over there, please represent us well.

its ok muck you can rest easy because mercury 40 is in california as the ambassador of good will. his sister said that merc said that our wr corp is getting ripped to shreads by the califonia media. she also said that mercury got drunk and got into three fights with six raider fans and had three bruised ribs but he was defending the honor of greise and csonka . so you dont have to worry mercury is on the job to straiten those clowns out.

I doubt it would've evened out the numbers. The Niners don't have the world-wide popularity of the Dolphins. Maybe in the eighties, with all the bandwagoners, but not now.

If the Hall of Fame was on the west coast, sure. But traveling to Ohio is asking a bit much. Hell, if it was over here, I'd have been there.

too add some more to this if the HOF game would be SF vs. da fins it would have been a rout i think it would be like playing our pactice squad:D

The best thing about Steve's speech was the shots of his wife....damn, what a babe. Not sure why the 49ers fans did not represent...guess the drive was too far.
