some rumors of 4-3 plus more

No to odrick playing end...misi played there at Utah, maybe he is good for something.I saw on draftcountdown.com a player we were very interested in is audie Cole from ncstate whom is a big middle linebacker.I actually like the switch because I think it maximizes everyone's talents on defense and it saves money by letting Solia walk

I really dont see how Dansby would play OLB in a 43..Do we really wanna pay all that money to a Sam backer? Makes no sense..If he does not play the Middle I think we would let him walk or trade him.. I think Misi would be a better fit at Sam. I would think we would play a 43 over or under to help with the transistion back to a 43. Oddrick or Langford would still be a 5 tech in that system which would be a good fit for either.. Starks would likely play the 1. Wake would go back to De full time..Would be interesting how much faster he would be able to play.

We really should stick with the 3-4. I don't like Misi in the 4-3 either as an end or as a LB. If we switch, I think we need a DE and a mlb, whereas if we stay put we only need to resign soliai, and find a part time pass rusher. Either way, we need help with a nickel corner and one or two safeties.

Misi was DE @ Utah.

Why let Soliai walk should Miami change schemes? The 4-3 requires 2 big DT's one of which plays the 1 technique. So, Big Paul & Odrick at DT.

Wasn't Dansby the SLB in the Cards 4-3?

Why not draft Carder from TCU to play the Mike?

We will need 2 big DT's when we line up in a 4-3. Solai and Langford could do the job. Baker might be an option there at DT too.
I think ODrick and Wake could play the ends, with Starks and Merling coming into the rotay.
We definitely need more speed on the end...Couples at #9?
Misi has not been an impact player as of yet, I see no reason to think that will change. He will probably play ST and back up OLB.
We need to draft a hard hitting thumper MLB and use Dansby and Barnett as OLB's
Just my .02

If we switch to a 4-3 I still want them to resign Soliai. He would be a force in the 1 almost like Gnata in Baltimore. Have Starks play the other NT position with Wake and Odrick playing ends and that's a damn good 4-3 Dline. I'd be fine with Dansby and Starks playing OLB but Misi at ILB worries me. He's not the dominant/game changing player I would want at that position and just our luck this year there isn't a clear cut, immediatly impact the NFL, MLB at the top of this years draft so we may have to find an upgrade via FA. Which actually wouldn't be impossible to do.

All you need to do is look at the list of needs this team has if it transfers to a 4-3. It would be QB, OG/OT, FS, TE, MLB, and D line depth. I see no reason why even if we switch to the 4-3 that all of the team needs can't be addressed via FA and the draft. This FO just needs to decide what positions they want to put the highest priority on.

i really hope they move to a 4-3. Why is everyone forgetting about Starks and McDaniels - both played DT in a 4-3. You put Odrick at one end and you go get a Mario Williams if Houston is really dumb enough to let him walk. Much better money spent on him than giving it to Solai. Wake is small to play DE in a 4-3 - Misi is as well. Misi might be an option although i doubt it but i don't see how Wake could. Wake would have to move to OLB or he would be a great trade piece. I wouldn't really want to trade him but in a 4-3 he would most likely be an OLB. Burnett in the middle and Dansby and Wake outside. Maybe - not sure if that fits. No way could Misi play OLB in a 4-3 - not quick enough. Maybe MLB for him - only real option. I think they have the personnel to play a 4-3 much easier than a 3-4.

Are you serious? Wake is a pass rusher, not a cover guy. And there are other DE's in 4-3 schemes who are Wakes size. No way he'd ever switch to olb in a 4-3. Your fundamental understand of player roles is way off.

The other thing people are forgetting is that Starks and McDaniel didn't play nearly as well in a 4-3 as they do in our 3-4. All around, it's probably a bad idea. It creates holes without solving problems.

Solia would cost Miami alot of money..You don't really need a NT like solia in a 43..He is a one trick pony..You would like to have a guy who can rush the passer a bit. If you wanna do some different balanced things you then maybe keep Paul. But when you play a 43 your end and 3 tech are the driving forces and usually get the most money. Mario Williams would def be an option. We could move him around like we did with JT..Wake is a great pass rusher and he needs to be hitting the backfield every down to those who say he should play Sam it would be a total waste of his ability, him playing Sam would slow him down quite a bit as he would have to read and react more in a 43 OLB role. Of course you could put him in some packages as the 43 Sam and run some zone dogs.

Luke Kuechly suddenly makes sense at 9. Let Soliai walk... try to get Mario Williams or Cliff Avril. Our DE will be Wake + Edwards/Avril, Kuechly in the middle. Sounds good to me. Draft Fleener in round 2, get Manning/Flynn and we are good to go.

If we are gonna change to a 4-3 and let Soliai walk we need to pick up Mario if Houston releases him. I wasnt for it when I first heard they might release him because of the money it will cost us but we are saving alot of money if we let Soliai walk.

The thing about switching to a 4-3, as the Giants show, in today's pass happy NFL you need to get consistent pressure with that front 4 and only that front 4. Do we have the necessary speed on the front 4 to do that? I think Odrick would be fine at DE. We can let Soliai walk and still have a good rotation at the DT spots. What we need is at least another speed end, maybe 2.

Coples would be a possiblity at #9, or signing Mario Williams. We would need to add another LBer to the mix as well. I'm not sold on a Dansby-Misi-Burnett trio. I could see Dansby being trade bait come draft day...

What if Manning turns up healthy and Colts keep him? Could our 1st rounder this year and next, along with our 2nd pick next year, inconjuction with one of our WRs (Hartline or Bess), and Dansby pry Andrew Luck away from Indy? I'd even throw another mid round pick or 2 to make that deal happen...whatever gets it done.

Odrick fits much better as a DT in a 4-3. Misi can play OLB - just needs to get back to his collegiate playing weight. I'd try to resign Soliai, but Langford would obviously become expendable.
