Some Very Good & Very Bad vs KC

That's kind of how I saw it, too. I did not think the run blocking was anything special at all, but rather that Lamar Miller just finally flashed some heart and ability.

Agreed, Miller was impressive in run and pass. We can only hope this continues.

Rather than laughing and hiding your head, why not tell me what you saw to disagree, IF ya can.

I typically give SB a hard time...but this is one of his more accurate assessments...OL did not play well, Miller ran hard yesterday...

Naw, P8u, I don't think he's off-base here. The OL was not good yesterday and to my great surprise, Lamar Miller actually made some guys miss and played with passion. I have ripped him in the past, but I give him credit for a solid game yesterday.

This team badly needs Pouncey in at C and Turner in at RG. I know Billy Turner is raw. Let him take his lumps. I'd rather take my lumps with a guy who occasionally blocks people out of the friggin' picture than with Dallas Thomas.

Satele was great week one and... not great the last two weeks.

If the oline holds the poa and doesnt allow penetration then they did there "job", sure you always want there to be massive holes but those are pretty "rare". Lamar Miller finally played like a rb, and he busted through the line when there was a crease to make something happen. IF Miami would get that all the time from him he would live up to his potential.

For the C/G combo to slow down and control Poe is a great feat, he is a monster in the middle.

Can't always expect a oline to open up massive holes, sometimes the RB has to go out and make **** happen themselves. He finally did that. Oline was fine.

Not sure about Turner being ready, many choices to make after the bye on the OL and who plays where. Many here had questions on the OL coming in, and it would appear that we were given some fools gold in the first game, as Tannehill has gotten killed in the last two, with little difference from last year.

Not the same as you. Maybe you can tell me what you saw, other than a couple of highlights.

I saw some big holes, sealed off edges, blocking the backside pursuit defenders for cutbacks, and a few guys getting to the 2nd level. The OL blocked pretty well in the run game, but KC also gave them nice lanes the way they were lining up. You don't average 7+ YPC with bad blocking unless you are Barry Sanders. Even Daniel Thomas had runs for 5 and 10 yards on his 2 carries.

That being said, the OL was not good in pass protection.

Oline was fine.

I really don't think this is true and although you raise valid points that the OL isn't going to open huge holes up all the time, I still can't look at that performance yesterday and say the OL looked fine. The OL looked like it is badly in need of a new center and right guard.

When I say fine I keep in context who the **** is starting at the C and RG position

For having Samson and Dallas as you starting right interior and you play as decent as you did yesterday you did a good job.

To be fair, he said the OL was fine in the running game. You took his quote out of context. He was not referring to pass blocking.

I missed a couple of his carries in re-watching but, here' a breakdown of what I did see on when Miller ran.

1- no gain, no space,

I didn't record the game nor do I remember every run but I do remember the first run and Miller had a hole just to his left but he didn't see it. That is one of the things about Miller I don't like. Too often, he only looks for the hole where the playbook tells him to look for the hole and he misses opportunities to improvise thereby leaving yards on the table. He's also not very good at making people miss tackles.

He did change direction on a few plays when the opening was not there.

Well, I think it was marginal at best in the run game, and I think P8u sort of agrees with me, based on his "in context" comment about our C and RG. "They did as well as can be expected" seems to be the theme here.

Fair enough. Still wouldn't say it was a good performance. :(

Well I disagree, I think they performed well in the running game. Lets not expect them to pancake their defender every play. All the OL needs to do is take their defender out of the play, and many times a stalemate does just that. Like I said, 7+ YPC is impossible behind a line that blocked poorly. And this is the first time I have seen designed cutback plays by Lazor with the whole line blocking down and a backside trap block. It worked extremely well the few times I saw it.

I was at the game and while the OL wasn't perfect. There were holes all over the place not to mention 2nd level blocking. If you believe L.Miller just became "better" all of a sudden? Then I got something i would like to sell you.

Darn Shame they didn't run a lot more. It was obvious more times than not they were able to run on KC defense.
