I would argue there are three goals when employing this strategy.
1. Limit the number of opportunities.
2. Disrupt the rhythm of the QB and offense
3. Keep your pass rushers fresh.
If our pass rushers have a great game, then this strategy may work. If your offense has a couple of three and outs, then it is a waste of time.
