We’ve beaten teams multiple ways on offense and now they have created all the leverage

Imagine if Fangio gets in the act and shuts down the bills offense to win the game lol

Bigger chance it's your QB going out he's the one that needs to run to be half decent.
 
When the only response you can get from the opposing fans when you remind them how good the Dolphins are playing is, “Well, Tua will get hurt again” then you know their butts are puckering at the thought of the Dolphins being a legit contender.

Those Flores defenses worked great against bad QBs. The good ones seemed to eat it alive more often than not

I have always said I would rather have a defense that responded in pressure situations, but did not have great stats, then Vice-versa...And that is what Miami seems to have for now.

Charger game, the Chargers get the ball back with a chance to win with just a FG, Defense shuts down Herbert. Pats game, the Patriots have a chance at the end of the game to tie the score, the Defense stop Gesicki. Then yesterday, McDaniel has the offense go for it on 4th down, they fail, give the ball to the Broncos in great field position, Dolphins D flat out shuts them down. If this was last years version of the defense, most or all those situations end badly for Miami.

Miami defense is getting better each week, and it does take time to become the Defense that we all want to see, but I have faith in Fangio eventually getting it done.

I'm with you. I loved that defense of the ZT and Jason Taylor era, Madison and Surtain as well, and yet somehow we just ended up rarely showing up when it really mattered.
 
Good post, OP. I'm not sure where Miami is rated on defense, but they have come up big in big spots.

That's kind of what New England did all those years they were dominant.

If the Dolphins continue to put up 30+ points consistently, opponents are going to counter by trying to keep up. Meaning, two-minute offensive, looking for big plays, lots of passing. In other words, it's probably unlikely Miami will be top 10 in least points allowed.

I have a hard time believing the Bills will be "shut down". If nothing else Allen gets frustrated and turns into a fullback, which limits their potential but still gives them some cheap offense.

Can we make it manageable? Very possible.

Ya, I kind of saw this coming. You can only live on the edge so long. We kind of got exposed a bit. Fangio has to have some flexibility in his defense if it is not working....like different and more blitzes and allowing X to cover the teams best receiver if warranted.
