A playoff berth would have just been like putting lipstick on a pig, frankly. Sure it would have been great to see but it wouldn't have just magically erased the team's issues. Playoffs or not, I personally wouldn't have had a problem with Ireland getting canned, just as I wouldn't at the end of the previous 3 seasons. I really don't like the way he drafts for the most part. The continued failure to solidify the offensive line is inexcusable and I feel there is still a lack of real playmakers at core positions, especially if only considering players Ireland has drafted.
I don't have a problem with either Ireland or Philbin getting their walking papers at this point, though I guess I can see the argument for Philbin getting one more year.

You cannot tank the last two games of the year in the fashion they did. Questions have to arise.

and back to what I have always said, now Ross knows something, will have more time over this next year to think in a different direction without having to change everything on the fly which then makes even bigger mistakes and sets us back, and now everyone on notice to get better with knowing what needs to be fixed.

If they cant fix this Oline, they are all done. Next year. When the Owner already has a clue who he would turn to and have a beat on it next year before everyone else.

You assume that but no telling with this guy in ownership. Either way we are screwed this year or next . Might as well pull off the bandaid now and bring a new GM in now. I mean he has only had six years to build a winner but yes Dolphin fans are patient we have waited almost half a century
