Sporting News "offseason grades"

These guys go off of last years results. they can say what they want about the "changes" but they don't know anymore than we do.. screw them..

A C minus?????? WTF?????????

We added the best RB in college...that makes us no worse than a B considering how long much time our defense spent on the field last year with no running game. Screw the Sporting News...they should stick to baseball.

The grade isn't that bad folks.
The writer gave his opinion that our QB and defensive backfield are questionable at best.

How can you sit here and not agree with that assessment?
We were a 4-12 team last year folks. Remember that.
Oh sure, we were better than Cleveland, but should I pop a cork??

Because the assessment was based on off season moves. 4-12 was last year. Look at what we did with the D line (traylor, carter, holliday, roth)! LB's we add Crowder and Spragan. Secondary we took a hit losing Pat but we did pick up Daniels and hopefully between all of our safety pickups the secondary will be okay. We rerotte which is an upgrade over Fielder.

If the player adds weren't enough we overhauled the whole coaching staff including SABAN. Getting Houck and Linehan were better than any players we could have picked up. I'd say that isn't a bad offseason. Certainly a bit better than a C-.

How the hell do the Patriots earn a higher grade than us? Apparently Logan Mankins is going to be the best player to come out of this draft. Not to mention the tremendous signing of that All-Pro WR David Terrell.

The Patriots didn't have a terrible offseason by any stretch of the imagination, but I think most people around football would agree that we improved more than them.

losing their OC and DC is a blessing in disguise as well, because Bill Belichick will show that they were just holding him back from calling TDs on every play on offense, and shutting down every team on defense, single-handedly. I heard Bill Belichick was going to play in Bruschi's place this season if Tedy isn't able to return. That way Bill can just take out the middle man again and amass 200 tackles on his own this season.

let's see, Miami gets..a C-

No, AJ and Gus ( I hope) can actually throw the ball. And I guess the coaching changes and FA signings don't factor in? :fire: :shakeno:

Face it man...the Media hates the Dolphins because there the only team to ever go undefeated...

San Diego went 4-12 in 2003 and nobody expected them to be any better in 2004. We all know how that turned out. Who cares what grade we got?

well yeah, can you say you know everything about say... the seahawks? i don't know most of the things they went through this season outside of who they drafted and the "big names" they picked up in FA. the writers of that piece are the same way. they aren't experts by any means and certainly not on every team in the nfl. they really are going by last year's results and who the team picked up in the way of big names (mostly statistically driven).

hell, i saw an article by prisco this morning, in which he listed the top 50 players in this league. jason taylor was on there, albeit near the bottom and his question was, "but where will taylor fit in in their new 3-4 scheme", as if to say that would be our primary defense. he's not too well informed either.

i don't expect them to be perfect.

Feeley and Ferrotte can throw the out pass. Fielder cannot.

And Feeley ALWAYS hits his man right between the numbers, usually for a TD. Only problem is his MAN, is not wearing a dolphin jersey. Feeley will NEVER be as good as Jay was. Our only hope is Gus can turn out to be a stop gap until next year.

our secondary has regressed but we've improved everywhere else.

I look at it like this, if you are the worst rated team in the AFC then there's no where to go but up and we are still undefeated this year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

.. yeah, and so are the 49ers and the Browns.

lol...a C- oh well, not like his opinion really matters...unless we did something at QB he was going to give us a bad rating anyway.
