The thing that gets me is, Huizenga brought in Parcells, he brought Ireland. And Parcells actually WON a Superbowl.
Now Ross is listening to Peterson to bring in one of his cronies.
I can't stand this "hire my buddy" bull****.
Bring in the most qualified, most experienced person. Let him bring in his people and hold him accountable.
If you're not going to do that, hire Peterson make him accountable.
As it sits now it's like Peterson play Madden. He can make moves, but ultimately it doesn't cost HIM anything.
Peterson was a decent GM in the NFL for 20 years. I'd say that he knows some good questions to evaluate prospective GMs. I have no problem with Stephen Ross listening to advice from others to help make a good decision. I disagree with those on here who think that it's a simple exercise in identifying the best. How people perform in interviews and how well they work with others, solve problems and their work ethic are not always obvious.
The very best person who I employed did not light it up in the interview, but excelled to go onto bigger and better things. Stephen Ross has had a lot of experience in making good appointments in his real estate development business but he has not had a lot of experience in making NFL appointments. I think that it's a good thing to seek the feedback of others. A poor appointment could put us back further but a good one will get us back in the Super Bowl.
