Sports Buzz: Wednesday afternoon report

On running plays, we are vulnerable because of Sheppard. Misi can seal the outside and direct traffic but Im not confident in Sheppard to navigate and clean up. I would much rather have a player like Jenkins to navigate and clean up from mlb spot. Also, Jenkins is not as good at directing traffic at olb as a stronger backer like Sheppard. However, there are prbly benefits in having Misi and Jenkins at Olb in passing situations as opposed to Sheppard.

not mentioned, I think Ajai has to play for his life this week

I don't think you will see him in a regular season game this year. They will stash him on IR to give him a redshirt year. He can't block well enough yet to be allowed in a game IMO. They will do him like they did Lynch last year and see where he is next year this time. If they light hasn't came on yet then he will go the way Lynch went. Never been too high on the guy myself, and don't think he is a good fit for this offense. JMO

No he doesn't

Yeah he does. He has to have an exceptional game to have a shot at this year's 53. He is a RB with a questionable knee with many miles who has shown absolutely nothing to this point. Add to that he can't block to save his life and he is a prime candidate for getting stashed on IR like they did with last year's late rd pick Lynch. Give him a year to get completely healthy and see if he can learn to block better and maybe he can contribute, but I don't see him helping out much this year. I think he would have to have an amazing game to change any of that.

Jenkins isnt a mike but dont even entertain moving your only carry coverage lb out of weak...

We desperately needed to make a move for Kendricks during the draft. But honestly, I couldnt be upset at anything we've done this off-season, I'll chalk this up to "a great start, with a clear vision in mind, just needs another year"

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/08/27/devante-parker-expected-to-start-practicing-next-week/

Parker is expected to join practice on at least a limited basis with an eye on being in the lineup when the regular season gets underway. Being in the lineup is one thing, but will Parker be able to contribute after so little time on the field since being drafted?

“That’s the plan, but you never know,” Parker said, via the Herald.

It’s an ambitious plan given Parker’s injury and inactivity, but a growing role in the offense over the first weeks of the season seems like a realistic trajectory for Parker to take as he acclimates himself after the layoff.
