Easy, no DL to shut down the running game. Sounds like a winner to me....

I've stated my case, I've posted the numbers, and now I'm done with it. I'm glad we found a replacement for Greenwood....

PHINZ RULE!!!

............. hahah yet another reply and still no substance.

So the DL wasn't there to shut down the running game......... and yet Zach Thomas put up 145 tackles before being injured.......and his the greatest thing since sliced bread right? Not saying Greenwood could even hold Zach's jockstrap, but your reasoning has no baring on REAL football situations. If we were to go by your logic, all the top LB's in the game would never log 100 tackle seasons.

Thanks for playing.

Why is so hard for you to hold a conversation with people, rather then trying to shoot them down?

Oh come on.........when somebody gets testy with me, I'm going to defend myself and my word.

It's not doing much good. Defending a player as mediocre as Greenwood is a waste of time....

PHINZ RULE!!!

That WAS the situation in 2004....

Anytime. I enjoyed proving you wrong....

PHINZ RULE!!!

LOL........what was the situation? Do you even know how to defend your own word?

.............. you may be enjoying the thought, but purely fictional idea that you proved me wrong..........I on the otherhand am laughing hysterically at your reasoning or massive lack thereof.

....not doing much good for you maybe...........but then again you're the same guy who believes that if your defense is good, your linebackers don't rack up 100 tackles. Coooooockoooooo cooooockoooooo :goof:

I suppose you think the reason Greenwood had such high numbers in 2004, was based on our dominating DL play against the run???...

You did notice his numbers every season prior to 2004 did you not?? Those are the "accurate numbers" to expect from Greenwood when the DL is healthy, and playing solid run defense. Around 50-60 tackles a season....

Like I said, average to mediocre at best....

PHINZ RULE!!!

I agree, and the Texans over paid for him big time!

Accurate? Says you. You seem to quickly denounce the fact that he improved. So why then did his numbers jump higher in 2003 than in 2002? Our defense was a rock in 2003. There goes your "the defense sucked" theory. Can't wait to hear your next line of defense.

I'd also love to hear how a guy like Ray Lewis racks up over a hundo if his defense doesn't suck.

That's not the question at hand........the question was whether he "sucked" or not. It's obvious at this point in time they overpaid, not like it was a ground breaking contract, but they definately gave up a little more than they should of. Who knows, the man could very well earn that contract. Can't say anything till he's played a full season with them.

You are right on making an assessment on him. I think he was good, but i don't know if he could of taken it to the next level though.

No offense, but do you guys share the same brain?

His total tackle count for the season was 108 for 2004. You only included solo tackles. The NFL's total tackle count is a combination of assisted and solo tackles.

.............and let's see, he's not asked to blitz the QB, he's taken out during passing downs, and you expect sacks out of the man? The only thing he didnt' do was force fumbles, I concede that.

You just like to talk smack! You make this guy out to be an all pro, when he is a journey-man at best! I am done talking to you.
