Stephen Ross is the dumbest self made multi billionaire ever

Mr Ross has enjoyed more success than probably any of us will ever know. He didn't just get born to extreme wealth like Woody Johnson, Robert Kraft, John Mara and the Rooneys, he worked as a Detroit tax attorney and as a young guy went into business for himself and now he's become the biggest property developer in New York City. He made it himself. He is not dumb.
Whether this appointment of Tannenbaum to the football czar role works or fails is to be determined. Mike has been a consultant to the team for the past 6+ months, so they have come to know what he can do. This is not a kneejerk reaction or the result of a great performance in an interview. Mr Ross has seen what he offers and obviously was so impressed to create the role and make him an employee. Maybe they are actually being honest when they say that it permits Dennis Hickey to focus on what he does best - evaluate talent. I am open to the possibility that this can succeed. However, I fail to see the mastery that Tannenbaum brings to the table.

You make it sound like he was born in the ghetto... He was born in an upper class family and his family connections (Uncle) had a lot to do with his early business success... I'm not saying he didn't work to get where he is, because he certainly did, but he definitely had a leg up from his family and upbringing.

I didn't read this whole thread, so sorry if somebody already said this, but Ross was NOT a self made man by any means.

Wikipedia his uncle Max Fisher. Died with a net worth of 775 million. How much of his connections and money he actually shared with Ross is unbeknownst to me tbh, but I'm sure it didn't ****in hurt.

Long story short, Stephen Ross sucks.

We have to be the laughing stock of the NFL. We have the dumbest owner in the NFL... Wow how stupid. Did not work the first time, what make Ross think iw ill work again. Parcell sucked. He also brought Jeff dumb ass Ireland.

Petty resentment of successful people is so unbecoming

I don't resent anybody, but it'd be nice if my family owned all the gasoline in the Midwest. That way I could buy and destroy the Jets from the inside just for funsies like Ross is doing to us.

Im sure being a rich man does not make a person a football expert or a good football owner. Kraft has been a very good NFL owner, his other interests and successes are irrelevant. ross has been a poor NFL owner and just because he is rich makes this no smarter a decsions

THe NFL is full of successful businessmen doesnt make them good owners or somehow not subject to criticism as an owner

Saying someone is the dumbest self made multi-billionaire is like calling a model the ugliest Victoria's Secret Angel. She's still more than likely insanely hot. Stephen Ross is competing against other billionaires in the NFL to get the best people to run his organization. Most of the time the people he has targeted have chosen to go to other organizations or even stay put. There's a reason for this. He's perceived as inept. That might be unfair but it's the reality. Look at the last few Januarys around the Phins organization. Sad state

How dare you call Ross inept. He decided not to go after Harbaugh and instead brings us Tannebaum lol

Stephen Ross always wanted to own the Jets. And now he's making it happen.
