Stop all the "Let's trade S Morris" talk!!

I'd hate to let Morris go, but if they are offering a 3rd I would definately do so.

Morris is by far and away our most well-rounded back. Of Minor, Harris, and Gordon, none of them are better at anything besides maybe recieving.

He's a better blocker, by far and away then any of them.

He is a much better runner. He had 4.0 ypc behind a terrible line last season. Hell, Ricky only got 3.5 behind a better line.

He is a fantastic short-yardage back. Last season he had the most 3rd down conversions of any back, and the second highest rate of conversion.

:stupid:

I say trade Morris for a good offer. But what is a good offer? I'd only accept a low-mid 3rd or more. Morris has alot of value to us, as a situational HB, 3rd down back, FB, special teamer, etc.

LMAO. He's got alot of value...but he's a 3rd down back. Hence he doesn't have "alot" of value. He was ok in some spots but he didn't put any fear in any defenses and no one ever game planned for the guy. This team finished what was it...last or next to last in rushing. That pretty much shows the kinda 'value' he has.

It's not even guarenteed he'd be on the roster past the cut down dates anyways. If we get an offer for a 5th or 6th I'd hop on that.

That is a bunch of truth. When you have a runningback that NO ONE is afraid of it really hurts the line.

I see your point, but Gordon, and Minor don't comand any more respect then Morris. If we are only going to get a 5th or 6th round pick for the trade then trade Gordon or Minor.

you go on to talk about all his positives, yet you keep on saying that he's the #3 back. If we get a trade for our #3 back, you take it, especially if its reasonable!

That may be true, and as much as I'd rarther keep Morris, we couldn't get much for Gordon or Minor anyway.

No your wrong in that thinking. Its the QB that affects the line more than the running back. With the Defense not worried about getting burnt deep on a pass for a score they can put 8 in the box to stuff the run. Did you watch the line in 2003. The line sucked and we had Ricky in the backfield. The QB had 0 time to throw the ball and Ricky was getting stuffed behind the line of scrimmage almost all the time. The defense can throw all kinds of blitzes at us because the QB put no fear into the defense. If the QB could capitalize on a blitz and throw one deep or find the open reciever it would cause less blitzing.

What in the hell are you talking about? That's some of the most fantastic jibberish I've ever seen on this board. Explain that.

To a digree I agree with you but IMO a good rb changes the way a D approaches a game just as much if not more than a qb. who can throw the deep pass, even bad Qb's have there days, but an ineffective Rb is going to be shutdown quickly.

A Great running back will change the game for the Defense, Sammy Morris will not..

Sammy Morris is way too valuable on special teams, thays why he is more valuable than Gordon or Minor.

No way the Dolphins let him go.
