I’ve noticed that a lot of people on this site have become concerned with the character of the players on our team. Everyone who has ever done anything questionable in the past is suddenly a “malcontent†or a “criminalâ€Â. But let’s be careful before we classify everyone who has ever done anything remotely wrong. Let me also start out by saying that this is not in defense of players like Boston, Wright, Elam and McMichael. This is in defense of MATT ROTH, who I have heard grouped with these players lately, and to a certain extent Channing Crowder. First of all Matt Roth was in a barfight, he didn’t rob or rape anyone. He got in a barfight, that I can imagine went a lot like this; Roth goes to a bar and because he is a bada** football player, he is a target of guys who have beer muscles and are jealous of his stature. So they start with Roth and he kicks all of their *****, because they deserve it and they thought they were gonna win, 10 on 1. Who can blame him? And let’s be honest Roth is an intense guy and he didn’t back down from that situation, exactly the type of guy I want leading our defense for the next 10 years. There have never been any other stories of Roth doing anything, except for being an incredibly intense person; just what we need to liven up our D. As for Crowder, to the best of my knowledge his “criminal†history has to do with about 2 barfights. Big Deal! Another guy who lives his life with the same intensity he plays football with. And you can all probably imagine that his situations unfolded in similar ways, you know how people can be sometimes. Crowder’s slipping in the draft had more to do with his medical history rather than his “criminal†history. To me a barfight is not a criminal act, it’s not a mugging or an assault. So let’s be cautious of grouping every questionable move as a criminal one. And once again this is not in defense of people like McMichael, Elam, Wright or Boston; especially those that have done their crimes against women, that’s deplorable.

I really dont wan t to bring race into the issue, but it always seems like people are making excuses for the white athletes situatons.

ditto, minor crimes don't bother me.

Then you've never been a victim of "minor crime". ANY crime bothers me...I get up everyday and work my butt off...criminals make money off the backs of people like me whether it be stealing my car stereo etc...

Main Entry: witch-hunt
Pronunciation: 'wich-"h&nt
Function: noun
1 : a searching out for persecution of persons accused of witchcraft.
2 : the searching out and deliberate harassment of those with unpopular views.

I dont think Big Chief Randy of the Miami Slapaho Tribe practices withchraft and it's not harassment when you're discussing facts on the topic of the day.

The way you step in to defend the sensitive feelings of these druggies, bar brawlers, women beaters and rapists makes me believe that you in fact support their actions making what they have done, at least in your view, popular. That in turn making MY negative views on these criminals unpopular. I submit Sir that it is YOU who is conducting a witch hunt!

But seriously,

I think Miami fans NEED to talk about this and see if these are the people the fans want representing them. The Dolphins have gone from a team of class and inegrity to group of thugs. Nick Saban is kissing the backsides of his value players (or should we call them "Playas") and not holding them accountable.

Wimpy Wayne talks tough about the players Miami deserves to have represent them and then turns a blind eye to what's happening on HIS team.
Shame on you Wayne.

Legislators make a lot of money off you too. Ever heard of pork legislation.

I think what Cecil Collins did was wrong because that wasnt his woman, but I thought that it was Mc Michaels wife that he hit. I mean it wasnt someones elses wife, right? That would be unexcusable. I am married and I know some women like to push everything as far as possible. Plus, she was disciplined by him last year and she obvioulsly didnt learn a da*n thing. Unbelievable that people are excusing her behavior and not giving women a fair chance to be corrected. Where's the eqaulity?
