Strief to Miami?....

I disagree. Generally speaking (there could be few exceptions), I would pay a premium for proven talent instead of throwing large money at young player with potential.

It's a joke to respond to crap on PFT. The bias against the Phins is all too clear. I'd imagine every team has players decline to visit. We need to start by not acknowledging media garbage.
PFT and Rotoworld have an anti-Dolphin bias commentary on everything. They also have a pro-Patriot bias. Jason LaCanfora apart from being wrong most of the time takes an anti-Dolphin stance whenever he can. Also pretty anti-Jets, anti-Browns, anti-Cowboys and other teams too. I can't help but wonder whether our reporters/journalists/professional tweeters receive payoffs. The bias is so blatant, I smell Bob Kraft's underlings giving kickbacks.
We see our team playing a game but the other reality is that it's a multi billion dollar industry making some people extremely wealthy. For everyone who said Belichick could not possibly have videotaped the signals from the sidelines and Pioli installing bugging devices throughout the Chiefs facility, is it really that far-fetched to consider a billionaire throwing a few crumbs?
NFL Commissioner should investigate. Ted Wells would get to the bottom of it.

You know sometimes I think Media guys like him are playing the odds more so than bias, so that they can look they can say "SEE I GOT IT RIGHT!" Look at the list of teams he shows disdain for, none have done anything in over a decade and some are downright tire fires. But if you side with teams like the Patriots, 49ers, Seahawks who are ascending or have ascended you can pretty much back any play they do because right now they do things well and are less prone to foolish mistakes so to make himself look good, a guy LaCanfora just front runs for the time being. and in my opinion almost sports media journalism is pretty much all concern trolling fan bases

Strief is not using the saints to up an offer when the Saints can't even afford him

then whats he waiting for? he turned miami down for a visit and i havnt seen him going and visiting any other teams.

he is waiting around for all the money to dry up? waiting until every other team needing a rt signs one?

doesnt make sense. what does is that he wants to stay with his superbowl contending team IF there is any way. there have been other cap strapped teams who "find" money for a player they want/need and i think he is hanging on [at the request of the saints] for that.

He probably has his family in New Orleans and is waiting to see if they are able to sign him before he goes elsewhere. NO wants him but dont know if the money is gonna be there for him.

Foolishly Streif and his agent are sitting around hoping the Saints will make a move and clear cap (basically cut 4-5 bench players) . Market will shut down due to teams already signing players and he will be left with crumbs.

Yes bro he could end up taking a lot less and not be with a real ideal team of his choosing.

We need to sign a couple more veteran FA O-linemen, a RB, a LB and a TE. Hickey has a lot of work to do. Anyone who thinks Branden Albert and Shelley Smith are enough for the o-line they're sadly mistaken.

He isn't coming. It was just his agent clearing up the media created perception that Strief rejected the Dolphins visit invitation because he didn't want to play for Miami. PFT had a mocking article yesterday based on that news and his agent obviously wanted to set the record straight.

The Dolphins also took offense to that, as they should. But of course Armando now has an article up ripping the team for being to sensitive.

Pro Football talk has Patriot biased writers and Florio has a HO for the Fins! Take their Patriot agenda for what's it's worth.....Crap!

The Saint are over a million in the hole as it is and as mentioned they still have to draft (and pay the draftees).

I'm sure there is dialog between the Saints and him but until they come up with money, which you would think they had plenty of time to do, he ain't going back.

We have money. USE IT! Screw paying "Right Tackle" money, that's not going to impress him, pay left tackle money. Sign him to a 2 year deal with some incentives and we can try to develop younger guys in that time.

30 isn't old for a oline guy as long as he isn't showing signs of digressing or has healthy issues. A good left tackle can (which he is) move a couple positions and be productive.

Have not heard one dolphin fan...even the most optimistic say or think we are remotely close to being done filling out the roster

Sounds desperate like the Pats and Broncos.

Why on Earth would Hickey and Aponte waste four million in cap money?

Strief is nothing special. He is a solid RT, that is all.

This draft is absolutely loaded with RTs, which is the way the Saints are almost sure to go after wasting all that money on Byrd.

Nate Garner can play RT if need be.

Patience.

Saints could still renegotiate Brees, Grubbs, Colston or Jahri Evans, but they're already on the hook for a lot of money for each of these guys -two of whom are guards- and Byrd will hit the cap next year with his 10m number. Not to mention Graham. They also need money to sign their picks and to operate in the regular season, so the only way the Saints can pay Strief is by digging a deeper grave for themselves than they already have. And they just might give it a go.

My guess is they'll restructure Colston and Brees to resign Strief, but there'll be hell to pay when the bill arrives.
