I hadn't put 2 + 2 together, but you could be right. Jimmy Graham has a very strong case that he is underpaid and the number of plays where he operates like a WR. The Saints need Strief to protect Brees. A deal in principle is done but the team is strapped into a financial straight-jacket and will be for future years. Strief didn't want to pay Miami a visit because he wants to stay in New Orleans. It would be good to know when the Graham grievance is scheduled to get resolved. Brees needs RT protection and he also needs his top catching 6'8" weapon. Loomis is running out of options.I heard a good point about jimmy graham filing to be tagged as a WR if he wins saints have to pay 4 mil more and that's what's probably holding back the contract talks with their RT. Saints probably won't b able to keep both players, I'll be happy with either one.

Saints and Zach Strief have agreed to a five-year deal, according to the team
Curious as to the details.
Saints must be banking on Bree restructuring his deal or cutting some more cap heavy players.
In addition, if Jimmy wins his arbitration and is tagged as a WR thats a $4 cap hit increase.
Not sure what fuzzy math the Saints are running with but they cant afford all of this.

To @gleejr9472 Saints have spent $132.7 million before Strief's deal. But only first 51 salaries count, which has them at $117.291 vs cap.
I'm starting to wonder where the Saints are finding the money....

Source confirmed Strief's contract numbers. $8.4 million guaranteed. Max of $20.5 million.
