Suck for MARIOTA

Is Mariota any good? I mean I see he is doing well in college, but does his skillset translate well? I want a new QB, but don't want to draft an Tannehill or RG3 over a Luck, Wilson, or Foles.

I mean thats always the question. Other than Luck…the vast majority would not have taken Wilson or Foles over RG3 or Tannehill for that matter. Mariota is a good QB but needs to be in the right system. He's very accurate, can make all the throws, but he hasn't been forced to throw balls into tight windows much. He is careless with the ball on sacks (fumbles are a huge concern). He runs quite a bit, but honestly not anymore than Russell Wilson ran in college.
Winston talent wise is the best QB available (if he comes out). He's just a risky pick betting on him to not be an idiot. Definitely some good looking 2nd tier guys though like Carden and Cook for example. I think you are going to see more teams go this route so you don't pass up elite talent to overdraft a QB (case in point taking Tannehill over Kueckly). If you are taking a QB top 10 you better be sure he's you guy or you are going to miss out on an elite player.

I don't see taking a guy in the first this year, I don't think we'll be high enough to get a top QB prospect. But look at the 2nd rounders that have performed fairly well over the years. I'm all in favor of taking a guy who falls to the 2nd, or maybe someone like Bryce Petty or the kid out of West Virginia? Flyer in the 3rd for injured Braxton Miller? Gunner Kiel if he comes out?

I'd trade for Cousins in a heartbeat, but it won't happen. You'd have a better chance of getting RGIII off of Washington....the coaches are learning Griffin is a coach killer. I loved Griffin coming out of college....but he's bought into his own hype WAAAY too much.

Turn off your Xbox, pal.

He didn't look that great on Sunday.

Only managed to toss four touchdowns.

I used my Xbox 1 to watch the game yesterday. I should have been playing Madden instead!

Ah.. if only we had just sucked the year Luck came out. All those people saying they wouldnt do it have little idea how investments work. I couldnt believe that there were actually people on here arguing against tanking.

Dolphins need to tank until they find an elite QB. I would rather be really bad and wait on a QB than this mediocre crap. Tank for Mariota.. if he sucks, tank again and get the #1 QB the year after.. Keep repeating. Yes, its possible to win without a QB but we obviously dont have the coaching staff to motivate players or come up with well designed schemes. So the only way Dolphins will do anything is with an elite QB. Getting 6-8 wins has been crippling this franchise.

Tannehill might get good enough to get into the playoffs but I dont think he will be good enough to carry a team - and I'm a huge supporter of his.

You need to head over to Ricky's house...the bongs waiting.

Don't see any splash QB's in this year draft honestly.....

:idk:

Winston has bad judgement off of the field. On the field, he is a competitor and a leader.

The question is does the off the field stuff ruin the on field.

I am still intrigued.

Gotta love the "give up and lose on purpose" mentality. Yeah that's gonna get our team moving forward....throw a season away on purpose. Asinine!

mariota will never be a elite QB ... Never..

see now that is just plain stupid to be making assumptions like that. Personally watching him the other day, he is not only kapernick fast, but he can actually make good throws all over the field and is very smart as well. I am not an Oregon fan, in fact I dislike them quite a bit, but I would say mariota has a shot at being good in this league. Go ahead, tell me about how you know for a fact he won't. Just like I'm sure you said the same about Russell Wilson.

gotta love the colts who tanked an entire season on purpose and now have another QB who is going to play at an elite level for 12+ years and already got them into the playoffs twice.
