What do they have in commen? All teams that went out, drafted a young QB, let him take his lumps and built a team around him. TO WIN IN THIS LEAGUE YOU NEED A QUARTERBACK! Start with that position, then build around him.

And this is the blueprint that works. Take away the Lions and all of those teams have been in the playoffs the past two years and Detroit might be on their way this year. And 4 or 5 of them have legit shots at winning the Super Bowl this season.

Trying to win like the Ravens did or Tampa did, while it can work, it is very difficult and really not the best way to do it.

AJ Feeley might be ok (we can't see because of our terible o-line) but he won't win us a Super Bowl I know that much already. He is your classic back-up QB. A nice player who isn't anything special. Fiedler is done, and Sage isn't a starter in this league. This team needs a QUARTERBACK, then work from there.

It means taking your lumps for a few years. I know that is tough for fans to swallow.........but its true. Telling fans, hey you might not be good again or in the playoffs again till 2007 isn't easy to take. BUT, it is what MUST be done for this franchise to even have hope of winning a Super Bowl.

Time to suck it up Fin Fans........time to start over.

We are the Dolphins. We don't rebuild, we reload. I will suck it up for one season, but I expect us to be back on top next year.

Sadly this reloding philosophy isn't getting us to the Superbowl. Not even a sniff of the Superbowl.

The NFL has changed. You can't do that anymore! Those days are long gone. I hope Wayne and Eddie don't think this way, if they share your opinion on how to get back to the top we are in trouble.

Fans look at the teams that go from worst to first overnight.......it isn't overnight. That is just the way the media shows it. Those teams have 3 or 4 years of picking at the top of the draft and cleaning up cap problems, they groom a QB for a few years..........then they make their run.

You can't reload in the NFL. This isn't the SEC or Big 10 football.

Hey, Matt Simms (Phill's son, Chris's brother) is a QB at Don Bosco HS up here, 6 more years and we can draft him!!!

We are not that far away, need a young QBand O-line, what scares me is when we get an offense, the defense will be to old (Surtain, Madison, Thomas, Seau etc...)

I think we SHOULD start thinking rebuilding, especially on offense, but I do think you can win a Super Bowl with an above-average QB. It's been done many times.

If Poole's as good as he looks, I'd like to trade Surtain for a premier center (O. Kreutz or someone similar) and a #2 pick, sign Edge, and draft a LT with our EARLY #1. Draft a top-flight RG with the #2. That way we have depth at RB with Gordon, and our O line improves a LOT. Also let Minor go -- we don't need TWO 3rd round picks as backup RBs. I don't think this is the answer for next year per se, but if we're rebuilding long-term this is the way to go.

With this plan we could have the following lineup:

WR -- Boston
WR -- Booker
WR -- Chambers
TE -- McMike
LT -- early #1 pick
LG -- James
C -- top-notch guy in trade for Surtain
RG -- #2 pick
RT -- Carey or McIntosh -- let 'em compete in camp
RB -- Edge
QB -- Feeley

Hire Charlie Weis and switch to a 3 wide one-back set and we're ready to go.

Suck it up for 3-4 years?? So what, our defense can slowly degenerate and retire? 3-4 years we will have a completely new defense and finally a good offense? I dont think so

We are an OFFENSIVE LINE away from being a playoff team. Did you see our defense last night? Hell we were even missing 3 starters in Howard, Surtain and TimBo and they still only gave up 9 points to a GOOD passing team in Cincy.

NO QB in the league could put up numbers behind that Oline. It all starts at the line. Thats a problem that can be fixed in the offseason. We are still 2 players away from having a good Oline. Look on the bright side, this line cant play ANY worse because last night was one of the weakest offensive perfomances against a mediocre defense I have ever seen.

Well with that plan we would NEED Oline help desperately. Can you imagine with 3 WR sets and Randy in the LACK of blocking this Oline would do?

Where did the 3-4 years come from? he said this year and back on top next year. Dont put words in peoples mouth. How does anyone know how AJ is gonna do? It aint like Palmer did a world better last nite. At least he was playing behind an o-line that was established, an established rb and a coach that committed to him even tho he had a qb that was a wiing qb last year. If after this season AJ hasnt shown big improvement, then MAYBE he is only a backup. But all young qbs make mistakes and have to learn from them. Sitting can help the growth in that he can become familiar with the offense, but playing is the only way he will be 100% comfortable and can react w/o thinking to a defense.

MikeO said 3-4 years, I said next year. As much as I am ready to say we are a 5-11 team, I will give this team another week. If we can somehow learn to play on the O-Line, we could beat Pittsburgh.

Oops, I didnt mean to quote Nub on this saying.... I agree with you Nublar but disagree with the whole suck it up for 3-4 years BS
We can fix the Oline in an offseason, we should be back next year with our defense and passing weapons.

Didn't think we had a #2 pick, he is still in the turf in Cincy!
