Super Bowl Bound?

Hmmm... let's take a trip down memory lane... to the unveiling of the Wildcat... how did that work out in regards to this statistic??

Point being, 2 years is not a very strong sample size...

But how many games was it before our first w with the wild cat? This year we are better than last imo. We improved everywhere but lb and DL as we were already stacked there. Who's to say what this team can do if the dlmen can pressure the QB with no help.

I'm not saying it isn't possible that we can do great things this year. Just that this is a really pointless arguement

It was 3 years actually. The Wildcat win year turned out pretty good. We won the AFC East that year but lost in the 1st round. That is an improvement over recent results.

If you go back to all of Brady's starts that would give you a better sampling of the butt whippings (double digit losses)
There are only 23 of them in Brady's 200+ starts.

In 2001 despite 3 such defeats the Patriots won the Super Bowl, Miami was a wildcard and Indy and Denver were non-playoff teams
In 2002 3 of the 4 teams that put a butt whooping on them made the playoffs. (GB, Jets, Tenn) Miami got nosed out of playoff by refs.
In 2003 Buffalo was the only team and they went nowhere, patriots win the Super Bowl
In 2004 Pittsburgh lost in AFC Championship to NE who won the Super Bowl
In 2005 everyone blew them out (5 times) 4 of the 5 team made the playoffs (Den, KC, Indy Carolina) San Diego non-playoff team.
In 2006 neither team that blew them out made the playoffs.
In 2009 the Saints ended up winning the Super Bowl while Ravens were a playoff team.
In 2010 the Jets made it to the Conference Championship while Cleveland failed to make the playoffs.
In 2012 the Ravens end up winning the Super Bowl
In 2013 the Broncos end up losing the Super Bowl.

So previous to this year you have 22 games to sample from with Brady at QB

2 went on to win the Super Bowl
1 went on to win AFC Champion ship
2 more made it to AFC Championship
14 of the 22 teams made the playoffs.

So definitely NOT a done deal at this point.

But it is nice for the Fins to have 4 of the only 22 butt whippings of Tom Brady! Number 5 coming later this year.....

I know its way too early to talk Super Bowl and it was only one win. But found an interesting stat that bodes well for Miami.

The Patriots are seldom out of games at the end. Whether it be the refs, Brady's 4th quarter play or whatever they are always in it until the end even when they loose. But Miami's double digit win took the end of game Patriots miracles away.

In the last 55 games dating back to 2011 season the Patriots have only been beaten 3 times by double digits. Both of the previous teams that defeated the Patriots by double digit went on to make it to the Super Bowl.

2012 Baltimore beats New England 28-13 and goes on to win Super Bowl
2013 Denver beats New England 26-16 and goes on to lose Super Bowl
2014 Miami beats New England 33-20 and ?

The previous 2 drubbings came at the end of the season in the playoffs so it may be a bit early to start celebrating.
But one can hope.

I like the way you think, lol.

Man, your glass ain't half full -- it's the whole way full, cause you count it all, lol. Air and water.

Let's just worry about Buffalo... the Bears fans penciled that one in also. Belicheat and company took us too lightly and look how we smashed their ass. :idk: .

Win our second toughest home game vs the Packers and we could be looking at 8-0 at SunLife. Raiders should be 9-0. Win this week @Buffalo 10-0. Our path to the SB is a first round bye and some homefield advantage which would probably take about 12 wins, maybe 13. The one game that could pave our way to the SB could be that Denver game, that game could be our ticket to the number one seed and homefield throughout.

Like the enthusiasm but one game at a time. First things first. Let's beat the Bills and start two and 0 in the division.
