Just read that they were looking for WR/OL if they can't get a top pick. If we can send them Stills and something else then I'm all about this trade. Bring in one of the best DEs in the game right now and see if we can make him want to stay.

Is Clowney a top tier run defender? 18.5 sacks over the last 2 years is good and better than anything we have on the roster by far but is it worth multiple picks and/or good players and a mega contract?

Basing it on stats and saying "by far better than what we had" is coming back to haunt: Wake had 16.5 sacks over 2 years in part time duties and we let him go. As a matter of fact Cam had 46.5 sacks since 2014 and Clowney had 29.

I don't want a playyer who clearly does not want to be here and is just looking for a paycheck.

Assuming we don't trade a first rounder or Tunsil, if we add someone like Clowney who is only 26 and doesn't have a ton of mileage on him, we should be ready to compete while he's still in his prime.

Bottom line is that teams can turn around on a dime these days. There may not be a tank, but it also might show that the team thinks it can go forward with Rosen or that any one of Tua, Fromm or Herbert can be successful NFL QBs.

I would do stills for Clowney straight up with no guarantee he resigns. That makes incredible sense for us and probable would be the best offer Houston gets. We don't need to outbid ourselves like past signings.

Be one thing if we were confident on Rosen, had a good offensive line and were just missing that edge player.

But, the Dolphins are unsure of the QB spot, 3-4 spots on the O-line, and other spots will see large changes in the next few years.

They'll be asking for a 1st or multiple high picks.

Rome wasn't built in a day and neither will this team...he will be a very good addition to the squad if it happens. Flores must have so great Ideas for him!

I don't get it either. My first reaction is why would they consider him at this point? Clowney seems more like a player you trade for when you are a few players away from contending for a title.

We are loaded at WR. There is a good chance stills is cut. Offset more than half of Clowneys contract w stills out. Then Ross has something to hang his hat on this season to try to make some ticket sales.
