**Super Thread** Clowney/Tunsil Trade Rumor (merged too many times)

It could be Flores helping out his friend (O’Brien) drive up the asking price for trade return for the Texans from other teams.

Clowney was the most over hyped prospect I can remember and mainly because of one play and we've all seen it know which one I'm referring to.

If we trade Tunsil for Clowney then this front office will be no different then the rest. Where there is smoke there is fire so apparently we have some interest and I'm fine with inquiring but we can not trade someone like Tunsil or Howard for an over rated and injury prone player.

Guys knock it off

You can attack the things posted but do not attack the guys posting them or your posts will be deleted

If you don't understand how Clowney will sell tickets then there is no explaining business to you. Move along, move along.

Yea as the typical fair weather phin fan who sits on Miami beach drinking a daquiri on Sunday afternoons says to himself "wow the rebuilding Dolphins who are expected to finish with the league's worst record just traded for a DE who had 9 sacks last year? Let me run off this beach and go pay for season tickets so I can maybe see a sack from him every other game while watching the team lose!"

It's okay. Not from personally experience but I've heard a lot of people fail at business. Is there anyone else who doesn't believe Clowney would sell some tix in Miami? I'm putting a great plan together for all of you to but the golden gate bridge instead.

It only makes sense to me if he signs a 4-yr deal, or something long term where he would be on a dolphins team when they are ready to compete. Trading assets for the guy for 1-2 years is pretty stupid imo. He is only 26, so if you can get him for a 3rd rounder and Drake or Stills, prob not a bad idea.

You're pretty condescending towards people that don't share the same opinion as you. You're hanging on to this statement you've made like it's the only way to sell tickets. People might buy into the program more if they see growth and a willingness to hold onto their draft capital. If you need to sell tickets for 1 season, then you probably shouldn't own a major sports franchise.

It's a rebuilding year. Yes he may sell a few tickets maybe but the stadium is not gotta be filled up because we added a D lineman to a below average team no matter how good he is when healthy

Now this is only my opinion just like what you say is only yours . Please remember that

Interesting. People attack my position that Clowney would sell tix. I defend it to those that say it's completely false and I'm condescending. I'm not going to go into my back ground. But I'll ask how many games do you attend a year? And if Clowney signs you would not go? Go more? Support your side please.

I see this as a win win for the fins. You get Clowney with no future debt (dead money) and if he works out and becomes a team player, you can sign this 26 year old to a long term contract and he can be another cornerstone for this team. If he does not work out, you let him walk next year with zero cap hit. Don’t see what the issue is. With the caveat we get a fair trade offer.
Nothing to lose? You mean except for the high draft pick that is gonna take to get him here? Wouldn't it be better to spend that high pick on a guy you can have for 5 year with a low contract?

It's not what you say that absolutely could be true even if some disagree it's how you say it

No one can be proven right or wrong until we sign him and see a huge increase in ticket sales or not right ?

Until then it's only opinions

I live in Canada, so I've attended exactly 1 Dolphins game in my life. Week 17 1994. I've been to a few other stadiums and seen other teams, but i've been a Dolphins fan for 40 years. Now that I live on the east coast and most road games are a little closer, I may attend more of those. Beforehand, I was a 3 hours away from a game in Seattle.

However, I was a season's ticket holder for the Vancouver Canucks. Even though they played in the finals some of my best memories come from watching the young kids play 10 years earlier. You're selling hope, not stats.

The highest draft pick we'd give up would be a second, and considering we have two of them, it's a price we could live with. And whatever happens, we will not have a highly paid quarterback through most and perhaps the entirety of whatever extension he gets.

He's only 26 and doesn't have a lot of miles on him. If you can get him in a deal that does not involve any of our impact players (Tunsil, Howard, Minkah or Wilkins) or a first rounder you pull the trigger every time.
