**Super Thread** Clowney/Tunsil Trade Rumor (merged too many times)

He is a sports talk radio host from what I gather. not credentialed by Twitter or the any radio station in his bio. Seems like a draws lines that are not there type.

Credentialed by Twitter?

What competency does Twitter require for "credentialing". To Twitter, credentials are just a self-serving exercise in egotism.

I would do stills for Clowney straight up with no guarantee he resigns. That makes incredible sense for us and probable would be the best offer Houston gets. We don't need to outbid ourselves like past signings.

Nailed it.

We've been doing much better since Flores came aboard. We've been running lean and smart. We got many picks and some major cash. It's like anything else, what's the price tag? What do we give up to acquire this asset? I wouldn't trade Drake, imo he's a huge part of this team. The Miami Miracle was an awesome play and Drake was amazing. He's a rare player who imo is very underrated on this board. One guy said start Laird and trade Drake!!! Can we pump the brakes on Laird?? Unless we trade Drake, which would be moronic, or Tunsil or a couple of other untouchables we have to look hard at acquiring high level talent. I'm against this deal but if they'll take a soft deal like Stills and a 5th it might be ok. I know Flores met with Clowney, that's the reason it might be ok. My instinct is that these larger than life players like AB and Bell really do infect the locker room. Keep prima donnas out.

Regarding Tunsil, from a PATS perspective, they haven't really opened the pocketbook for any of their Ts in recent memory … so this staff may look at it the same. We'll see how it goes … but this is odd ...

Unless they have EXTENSIVE research (due diligence) on the clown and have overwhelming evidence he's a
super *star* for us and a bonafide GAMER CHANGER -- and it's virtually guaranteed -- HARD PASS.

Not to overstate my opinion...

:)
I've been saying the same thing with different words. You say he better be a bonafide game changer and I say he better be Lawrence Taylor!! But, he probably will underachieve wherever he goes. So, hard pass unless they want Stills and a 4 or 5. That's it! Unless they want Kiko and a 5, they can have that. Either make an amazing deal and steal the guy or Pasadena.

This rumor is mind boggling and hopefully not going to happen. I trust coach Flores and like what he’s brought to this team thus far. Unless it’s Drake, Stills or Parker and possibly a 4th or 5th rd pick and he agrees on a long term team friendly contract I can’t understand why you would do this move. Clowney just doesn’t seem like a Flores type player. So confusing. However, I think if anyone can motivate this guy it’s Flores though. IDK it’s crazy.

Concerning good business and football.

Good football is always good business!
Good business is not always good football!

Consider Mr. Ross. He is a very good businessman. He has not been as good at getting us a good football team.

It’s clown shoes if we do it.
Clowney shoes you mean!

It never stops with the Fins, it actually looked like they had a plan this time around and were going to stick to it. As time goes by, you can spot the old habbits coming back. Its not that they are bad move individually, its that they just dont fit a coherant train of thought when put together...

I was 100% certain they were prepared to lose games this season, but with this move(if they make it), it really looks like they just woke up 2 weeks before the season starts and realized "Oh ****! we dont have pass rushers!"...

Maybe they thing Rosen is the man and want to improve the team and this could be an ideal situation to take advantage off if Flores has a plan to use him providing we don’t give up Tunsil for him.

They can easily fix OL, Pass rushers and CB with cost certainty players next off-season. Why would you go out and spend assets and cap space 2 weeks before the season for a player who wont bring you even close to .500, will either leave your team or milk it 1 year from now and has injury concerns...?

Dolphins dont need a pass rusher, CB, QB or an OL right now. Its too late, there's nothing they can do at this point to make them a winning team in 2019. What they need is a little bit of patience and a ****ing brain...
