**Super Thread** Clowney/Tunsil Trade Rumor (merged too many times)

I tell you - Clowney and a 1st round pick is awfully tempting. Tunsil is very good but he is replaceable. He has really had one good year, first two years he struggles with penalties a bit. Yes he is very good, no he isnt an All Pro. If we can do Tunsil and Drake for Clowney a 1st and 2nd that would be a haul and we would be silly not to do it.

Turns out the whole thing is about the Texans Acquiring Tunsil. I only want Clowney if a trade doesn't involve Tunsil, which doesn't sound possible.

Reading that Clowney is getting hosed not being tendered a de on tbe tag.

I don’t see Miami getting two 1s back here plus Clowney for tunsil. Seems real ambitious.

But Houston must really want out of Clowney otherwise they should be chasing Trent Williams who could be had cheaper than tunsil

Kinda smells like this is gonna get done now.

I still say if you pick up Clowney on a one year rental for $19 mil let’s say at the de tag only to let him walk this offseason for a 3rd round comp pick if I’m the owner I’m pissed.

$20 mil for a late 3 almost 4th rounder? Yeah you can’t sell that one to me

We make at least one boneheaded move every offseason. Tannembaum is no longer here but Don’t put it past the franchise to trade our franchise LT then complain why our QBs don’t have more than half a second to throw.

Wanna bet? Flo said last night “we don’t have a trade IN PLACE for LT.” He’s gone if we get what we’re asking for. Probably a 1st, another 2nd/3rd, Clowney and another player.
 
I was poking around Texans message boards and they are mortified at the one first rounder alone. The sensible fans seem to sense a desperate coach who is playing GM and is in over his head. They feel tonsil will be great but not enough to get them over the top.

I just don't trust Flores enough at this point to develop and churn out quality linemen like they do in New England. Scarnecchia is one of the greatest and putting faith in ours to create that same system seems unrealistic. We saw how long it took to get a franchise tackle after long went down. That and the lack of quality linemen puts the position at a premium. Too much risk for Flores and grier right now
 
i do know one thing. If this goes down I’m officially rooting for two things this year.

Must be a Sterup out the gate starting left tackle
 
The only thing I would do is Tunsil (and throw in Stills if they want) for Clowney, Tytus Howard, a 1st, a 2nd and a 2021 2nd
