Support For Joe Philbin

He allowed Incognito, with his history, to assume a leadership role on the team.

What is he to do, overturn the votes by the players?

Coach's jobs are safe or in jeopardy only with what happens on the field. That's all. So far he has done a good job, nothing to fire over. Lets see how the rest of the season goes.

Im confused, whats with all this hatred towards Philbin? Its only his 2nd year as coach. What do you expect, a superbowl? Be patient. Cant keep switching up staff every 2 years, thats not going to help longterm.

No, but I expect to see something in the way he gameplans, manages the game, or develops players that make him special. I don't see it..

Philbin's not going anywhere but keep thinking it if it helps you sleep at night.

Then you are obviously clueless. Because every African American player on this team loves Richie Incognito

What I said had nothing, not even one iota, to do with race. Further, I'm pretty sure I haven't made a comment in this or any other thread where I've implied that Incognito is a racist. So maybe you called me "clueless" because you were sitting in front of a mirror, I don't know, but whatever the reason you should pull up your pants, gangsta, 'cause your agenda is showing.

Exactly.

And I'm sorry, saying you're busy working doesn't cut it. There's no plausible deniability. You can't tell me the guy who picks up pieces of paper off the floor, and is super organized, is not going to know what his offensive players are doing, especially when the offensive line has had a big bulls-eye on it for weeks, because it's underperforming.

A coach should be aware enough to know there's a chance it's coming. If he knew there was a chance Incognito would be picked, Philbin should have picked the captains/leaders himself. And in retrospect, I'll bet this past week he's been wishing he had. At the very least, Incognito should have been stripped of any leadership role following the golf tournament incident.

Players pick captains...next. and I like cogs.

Only if the coach says that's how it's going to be done.

He makes no meaningful adjustments at the half
His game and clock management is poor
He does not use the weapons he has well
He continues to play players that have no business being on the field
His offense is vanilla
He tried to go to a hurry-up style offense, but couldn't because he was incapable of coaching the team well enough to do it

I would beg to differ on his clock management skills as we have had more half ending/game ending scoring drives be successful this year than the entire Sparano regime.
Plus his innovative use of timeouts to set the D won the game in Indy.

The hurry up had to be put up on the shelf because we are one of the youngest offenses in the NFL and lacked the components to effectively run it.

I support Joe.
If there is evidence that he ordered a "code red"(which I doubt BTW) then he is gone. Immediately
If not then there certainly is not enough "football" evidence to can him.

Man, you're trying to point fingers hard here. Cog is loved by those players including Martin. How is it not clear Cog is just a scapegoat now? 1100 texts between those two, that's not a bullying situation. Philbin doesn't need to be overbearing, the picks were just fine. It's Martin not being able to handle the nfl stress that is the problem.

So our coach is 4-4 and won against a few tough teams on the road and you want him gone mid-season??? Ladies and gentleman, we have now seen it all on this board.

Philbin is a good coach, to many of these bandwagon Dolphin fans should just go root for some other team. Go Dolphins!!!!!! F**k that ***** Martin and his money grabbing family of lawyers.

Yet here we are.
