FOX Sports has learned that the NFL has zeroed in on a New England Patriots locker-room attendant in connection with the scandal of improperly inflated footballs used in the AFC championship game against Indianapolis.
The person of interest was already interviewed by the league. The NFL is trying to determine whether any wrongdoing by this individual occurred, sources tell FOX Sports.
There is surveillance video showing the attendant taking the footballs from the official's locker room into another room at Gillette Stadium before bringing them out to the field, sources tell FOX Sports.
The NFL confiscated 11 of 12 footballs at halftime that were under the league-mandated air pressure of 12.5 PSI. The league has since launched an investigation into the matter.
Using an underinflated football can provide a competitive advantage by being easier to grip and throw, especially in the type of rainy weather condition that surrounded the AFC title game.

Ted Wells, who is leading the investigation into the Patriots' deflated footballs from the AFC Championship Game, has issued a statement on the status of the review.

"We are in the process of conducting a thorough investigation on the issue of the footballs used in the AFC Championship," Wells' statement read. "This work began last week, stretched through the weekend, and is proceeding expeditiously this week notwithstanding the Super Bowl. We are following customary investigative procedures and no one should draw any conclusions about the sequence of interviews or any other steps, all of which are part of the process of doing a thorough and fair investigation. I expect the investigation to take at least several more weeks. In the interim, it would be best if everyone involved or potentially involved in this matter avoids public comment concerning the matter until the investigation is concluded. The results will be shared publicly."

The ball boy didn't deflate the balls he took them into a separate room where a Priest "blesses" each one with holy water, so that the Pats wouldn't fumble as often and this has obviously worked the past 7-8 years

Belichick should still get suspended. Saying you didn't know it was going on is not a valid defense. It didn't stop the NFL from suspending Sean Peyton.

The bait and switch

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk has spoken to numerous sources regarding the surveillance tape that reportedly shows a locker room attendant taking footballs into to another area on way to field.
According to Florio, the other “area on way to field” is a bathroom consists of a toilet, a sink and a door that locks from the inside.
Another source tells PFT that the person carried two bags of balls that includes the 12 balls from the Patriots and the 12 balls from the Colts into the bathroom.
The employee reportedly spends approximately 90 seconds in the bathroom with gameballs, which really isn’t much time at all.
Interestingly enough, Florio’s source mentioned that the Patriots were the ones who brought the surveillance video to the NFL’s attention early on in the investigation.
It seems like this person wouldn’t be able to deflate 12 balls in only 90 seconds while also getting them out of the bag and then back in.
Investigator Ted Wells has said that the investigation could take weeks, but it sounds like they’ll need to unearth something more concrete or prove that this person was able to deflate the footballs in only 90 seconds or so.

Maybe he had to pull the deflated ones out of his ass and switch them with the legit balls. This makes sense since no one else knows where they came from... immaculate secretion!
 
So is this even the real tape or did they create one?? They could have used a homeless guy from under the bridge to be "Spoons" and paid him cash LOL
