Swing and a miss! Ross tried to hire Jason Licht and was turned down

Everytime this franchise gives us a little hope they rip our hearts out.

At this point it would have been better if they just kept Ireland. At least there would be much less backlash and black eyes for this franchise.

We can't even get a statement or explanation from the owner because he suddenly decided to take a vacation to China.

He didn't even go to China!! You believe everything that the media reports. Sheep!!!

And yet when there's been a negative article towards Aponte/Philbin you've treated it as gospel while preaching patients whenever somebody like Darlington posted something positive.

Pot meet kettle.

No comparison. The same people that KILLED, simply KILLED Mando since the season ended are now running with his story, as you put it, gospel. Never once did they treat Mando's writing with patience.

I am not a Mando hater, but I find it funny that all the Dolphins apologists are cozying up to his report today as a way to feel better. Can't have it both ways fellas.

What's to apologize for? You'd think we as fans would be able to see a report by the media and liken it to be true. Why would anyone be giving bull**** information? Their main job is to inform us the fans.

It isn't fair for you to side with the first article written saying Miami tried to contact Licht once they heard Tampa was close to sign him and then turn around and claim Salguero's article is worthless.

We claim the media has an agenda, well I believe Hayden has one too. Cause his back-pedaling makes no sense.

Please step away from the keyboard. Take a deep breath, and re-read your last 100 posts on this forum. Then think about telling someone else they can't have it both ways again.

You're rabid, man, completely rabid right now.

My posts have been consistent…

* I think Ross WOULD have a better situation on his hands IF he cleaned house
* At the same time, I never thought Joe Philbin or Dawn Aponte would be let go
* I like many of the candidates that were interviewed.
* The organization set up is murky at best.
* I hate forced marriages between GM's and HC's.
* The process is taking too long and it is possible that valuable time is being missed.
* I think it is crazy that Joe and his staff are not in Mobile
* I like Ray Farmer and an addition of a vet like Bill Kuharich would be excellent.
* With all that said, under Ross' vision of his organizational set up Brian Gaine is the best candidate and the team can hit the ground running to improve to maybe get into the playoffs
* I am shocked at the support and excuse making for Ross and Philbin by many here.

Those are my thoughts since JI was fired.

Nope. I am not a Mando hater. I do think the NFLN report has merit and it was obvious about lunch time that the Fins would have a local beat guy have a story that they DID NOT offer Licht the job.

Does it matter? Yes and No. Did I want Licht to get the gig…No. So I guess in the end it falls under the "whatever" category for me.

Of course Hayden has an agenda. He's Mike McCoy's illegitimate nephew or something. It's beyond clear he wants the Dolphins to fail so Philbin can be fired. He takes every article written recently that is a bash to the Dolphins organization and runs away with it like it's a sparkler on the 4th of July.

But when an article comes out that rebuffs the original one, it's a lie or someone's agenda to discredit the main article's author.

I never said you hated Salguero. Why does the NFLN report have merit but Salguero's doesn't? Mistakes are made in reporting I can understand that. But when the initial report came out that Miami went hard to Licht after they heard he was close to signing with Tampa but Salguero says that isn't true, why would you believe NFLN over the local reporter who should have the correct information?

Think about it this way, if Licht WAS the top candidate, don't you think they really would have offered him the job right then and there? He was a front runner, but probably not their top guy. Move along...

I don't know if we are upset about the idea of losing Licht because we wanted him as our GM. IMO we are upset about the idea that another candidate that our owner "reportedly" wanted turned Ross down. This thing has been happening since Ross bought the team. At some point we get tired of being rejected. Personally Licht isn't a top candidate to me but I like Farmer, Xanders, and Gaine much better. Of course I am just a fan and don't have any reasons for my opinion other than what I read about the candidates. Whoever we get I will hope he leads us to the promised land.

Maybe Mando is right, but the people touting Mando's story as gospel were killing him for days as a crackpot.

By the way, while I do think Joe is a weak coach, I cheer for this team to kick ass each week. That is why Brian Gaine is the best fit for this team to get going in the right direction. The team has the best chance to win now with him at the helm.

Now, if you are happy with the job Joe has done as coach that is up to you. IMO, he has failed to deliver and blew a huge opportunity for his career by losing the last two weeks of the season. This is a huge season for his career to say the least.

interesting they got someone from the Licht camp to go along with it and further discredit the NFLN story(tweet)

There will be a Darlington or Mando report that says this is not true and the Ross/Philbin supporters will be able to point to it.

Face it folks, the owner does not know what he is doing and is well behind the curve.

Just got home from work...

and..Ha ha, you called it. Really, it's not a surprise, why would they admit it?

But I don't think Licht would have gotten the job, I said that a while ago. And at this point, that's why he moved on to the Tampa gig. Licht is more strong-headed than Farmer. They want someone who plays well with other and won't change too many things, and will be grateful for the job because he's still learning. That's Farmer.

It's funny that after this "exhaustive search" they've come up with the same person they started with, Ray Farmer. At this point, this finalist stuff is nonsense, just announce who has the job.
