Swing and a miss! Ross tried to hire Jason Licht and was turned down

:mike13:
Ok....I have been flamed all week for ripping Ross, the org's lack of structure, the overall selection process and that the job could be viewed as toxic. Ummmm, let excuse making start.....now.

Just hire Brian Gaine.

He might need a czar.

Very possibly true but I'm skeptical. I'm having a hard time believing anything (good or bad) that the media reports on the Dolphins anymore.

But i thought it was reported that we had other interviews this week.

You ask the right question. Licht was a former Dolphin employee. He was interviewed as were a lot of others. Why did our interest only go up after Tampa showed interest?
Maybe this process with so many participants was too slow and cumbersome.

NO! this process was fine, fine, fine. We are taking our time to get the right guy.

I do not have enough bandwidth to kick up old posts.

Here is the deal: hire Farmer and surround him with vets like Bill Kuharich OR just hire Brian Gaine. He knows the scouts. He knows Joe. He knows Aponte. He has been in Mobile. Nothing lost. Plus, HELLO, he is very qualified.

Like I said yesterday, it is NOT an attractive job. I believe, candidates are not excited about the snakeponte, Ross, Failbin love triangle.
That or like everyone else says: Rappaport is lying bc the media is out to make the Fins look bad

Something doesn't add up here. Licht wasn't even reported as a front-runner, but everything was dropped just because the Bucs showed interest in this guy?

Remember when we all wanted Wayne Huizenga to sell the team? We've ended up much worse off than expected...

from the outside looking in this is the most dysfunctional football team i can recall and its led by the most clueless owner in sports. i dont care what hes done in real estate and how much money he has, this guy is an absolute clown. this team is looking more pathetic by the day. its not bad enough that the play of the team has been bad, to put it kindly, for the last decade plus, now the front office is actually surpassing the play on the field. incredible.

:bobdole:

just terrible...flat terrible

Yup. Judging by that poll only like 3 people even wanted him so its like a double whammy, we tried to hire the least sexy name and we got shut down. Though it might have been worse news had we actually hired him.

Did Tampa really give him final say? Lovie can't be happy about that.

I think this could have very well went down like this -> Mr. Licht we have some "more" interviews to conduct but you are on the top of our short list -> and Licht said I have already been offered a job why wait and not be selected -> and lose out entirely

I believe this to be true wholeheartedly, I do not believe any media spin, I refuse to believe that if Licht was the choice that he wouldn't have been offgered the job last week and turned it down, and then, and then, the media would and could blast the Brass... With some integrity

Ummm...what does that say about Ray Farmer. Either he is consolation prize or they obviously do not view him as the best guy. That is the first thing I thought of...

I will keep beating this drum esp. at this point: hire Brian Gaine.

Here is what Ross will do. He will fire up Earforce1 fly off and fail at hiring Litch then have a round table to announce Farmer and tell the fans this was my guy all along and I told Litch he wasn't ready. Certain people will get punch drunk on the Aqua Berry Kool-Aid and declare Farmer great and instantly from that point forward any misdoings blame will be placed on next sacrificial lamb I suspect Coyle!

Nothing adds up here Rent -> someone has conveniently left off a sentence or two on purpose
