Take the 19 Million and run ... straight to camp!

I think that all these salaries and bonuses are getting way out of hand.Me personally,If I'm paying someone that kind of money I expect to win every game. Now if someone gets injured and cannot ever play again then they should be given a ample amount of money to live on,but nothing crazy they do have college degrees to fall back on.Just my thoughts.First opion post so do not kill me

I don't think it's right that the Dolphins are trying to play little games when it comes to the figure they're offering Ronnie Brown. The team made him the 2nd overall pick in the draft; therefore, he should get paid like it. If players are getting money that is in the ballpark of a 20% increase from last years salaries, why not pay Ronnie his 20% increase. You don't take a guy that high in the draft and think that you'll get some sort of "deal" or "bargain." The team essentially gave Saban a blank check book to hire assistant coaches and make the team better, but now when it's time to pay the second person taken in the draft his money, there's some hesistation. Give the man his deserved money and get him into camp!

Miami has offered Ronnie Brown 19 Million in guaranteed money, he (or his agent) is demanding 22

What is it that 22 million will buy him that 19 won't? Certainly not the respect of the players who are busting their ***** everyday in camp for a fraction of that.

Take the money, live like a rich f@cking pig the rest of your life and get your A$$ to camp.

I'm sure the players are all for getting what he can get. Its only jealous fans who get all riled up.

we giving up 19 so why not 20.5 and get him here to make the team better??

20.5 is half way so both sides stop being so stubburn and make this team have the best backfield in the NFL

I think both parties should agree on something between the 19 million and 22 million

I think RB should get his butt in camp just like TO did in Philly......work out the 3 million dollar differences later on based on incentives!!!! :yell:

TO was under contract already -- the situations are not completely alike. TO *can* report, but RB cannot until there is a deal.

You know what -- I think this is the attitude I have the biggest problem with: there are some of you arguing this way because you want to see Ronnie at camp and hear how he is doing. You want to see him tear some folks up at the HoF game. It's not about what's good for the team -- it's what will entertain you now.

Yeah. Take less than value simply because some fans think you should.

It is a 5% increase over the same draft position as last year. The agents this year seem to think it should be 15% increase. That is not sustainable and I think the owners are starting to realize it.
5% increase is hardly less than value.

I'm starting to admire Maurice Clarett more and more. He refused guaranteed money and instead signed an incentive laden contract that will pay him like a 1st rounder if he performs (as it should be), but pays him next to nothing if he busts.

The increase doesn't have to be sustainable -- this is happening because of the change from 6 years to 5 years you can spread the signing bonus over.

I love the way fans cave with someone elses money.. People saying "He should take less" Of course you think he should take less. Its not you that is losing out on 3 million dollars.

Yea, you win 22 million in the lottery. When you go to pick it up. No, don't give me the whole 22, just 19. What can 22 buy that 19 can't.

Get real. Brown is just after what the slot says he should get.

Some poeple get very angry when they think about how much money these guys get to play a game. Many forget simple economics like supply and demand. My wife is one of them as she just can't believe how much money these guys make. I gave her an example and although she didn't like it, my point was proved. She is an RN and I asked her if she thought there was at least one Pro football player who could go to nursing school and become and RN. We both agreed there were probably many. Well then the zinger came. I asked her how many people who worked at her hospital could play in the NFL. She didn't like it but realized I was right.
