It struck me the other day that there are a lot of ex-Dolphins on the other teams. While there is a perception by some that we struggle to find talent, maybe the bigger issue is that we draft the wrong players and in some cases we are too quick to cut and some of the talent is prospering on other teams.

A list of ex Dolphins includes:
Patriots - Wes Welker, Rob Ninkovitch, AJ Edds
Green Bay - Erik Waldren
49ers - Ted Ginn Jnr (1st round pick)
Houston - Jason Allen (1st round pick)
Redskins - John Beck (2nd round), Anthony Armstrong
Raiders - Samson Satele (2nd round), Derek Hagan (3rd round)
Ravens - Ricky Williams (2x 1st round)
Buffalo - Tyler Thigpen (5th round)
Jax - Matt Roth (2nd round)
St Louis - AJ Feeley (2nd round), Donnie Jones
Denver - Andre Goodman
Jets - Patrick Turner (3rd round)
Eagles - Ronnie Brown (1st round)
KC - Travis Daniels (5th round)
Carolina - Olindo Mare (cut after 9 seasons but 4 since and still can send the kickoffs out of the ground)
Arizona - Rex Hadnot (6th round)
Vikings - Fred Evans (6th round), Joe Berger, Greg Camarillo

Don't get me wrong. The front office made many good calls in cutting some of the players above. But there have been a lot of wasted draft picks and in some cases we let go of players who have taken their game to the next level on another team, eg Welker, Ninkovitch, Beck, Waldren, Vickerson, Aromashadu. Maybe that means that we are not real good at developing talent.
In contrast we have few current players that played elsewhere and then improved when they came to Miami - Fasano, Wake
Welcome your thoughts..

The biggest mistake was trading Welker IMO.

The biggest mistake was trading Welker IMO.

the mistake was not putting higher than a second round tender on him. once that happened and the patriots offered their poison pill contract, trading him for the 2nd and picking up the 7th was the right move. we did not want him to leave. (btw, we took brandon fields in the 7th that year. don't know if it was with the pats pick).

That's what happens when you have constant churn in your executive office.

I see it at work all the time - new execs come in and fire off half the old staff. Some of which are damn good employees but aren't 'their guys'. This is what seperates Bill Belichick from these closed minded football coaches who require 3 years (or in our case = 4+) to find personnel to fit their scheme. BB will find the players and build the scheme around it.

I can guarantee you that your list will grow twice as long next year when this regime is given the boot.

Odrick (wtf has he done) over Dez Bryant.

Time to take out the Parcells trash. THey don't know how to coach or draft.

Not a single guy on that list except for welker is worth a penny. And most if not all of the draft picks that are gone have been from another regeim. so its no ones fault they r gone, and is exactly what is going to happen if we get rid of sparono this year. Half the players here are going to be gone and we will start all over.

the only surprise on there really is ninkovitch. who knew he would become starting caliber? everyone else is marginal at best (except welker obviously, and i addressed that above, and donnie jones who i always liked, but is no brandon fields). anthony armstrong and erik walden might develop out of the marginal category, who knows.

That list is horrible. Erik Walden? He sure is helping that Packer D get torched by the Panthers. John Beck lost his job to the Sex Cannon. Vickerson is decent, but Aromashodu is just a 4th or 5th WR guy. Welker and Ninkovich have been good, but a lot of their success has come from their system. Also we got hosed on the Welker deal and had to let him walk.
