Agent Brian Levy said Monday that it's unlikely free-agent safety Lance Schulters will sign unless he receives a better contract offer.
"I'm not anticipating anything in the near future with him and the Dolphins," Levy said.
"At this point, we haven't been able to come to an understanding that both sides are happy with, but we'll continue to talk in good faith."
Schulters made a free-agent visit with the Dolphins last month shortly after being released by Tennessee because of salary-cap reasons.
Levy said the Dolphins had some concerns about the foot injury that sidelined Schulters for 13 games last season but that his client had passed a physical "and could play right now."
If he signs, it is believed Schulters would compete with Travares Tillman for starting free safety
