Talks with Schulters stall

That same link doesn't make Vickerson sound like to good of person. Looks like he will miss the start of TC

There doesn't seemed to be a whole bunch of teams beating down his door. Sometimes players have a self inflated value of their worth. Once training camp starts, he will sign with someone.

:rofl3: :rofl3: Law who?

True. Plus the market safeties has traditionally been this way. It's generally not a position that pays. Especially late in free agency.

We got Sammy Knight in May with a mere $300K signing bonus (and a $300K roster bonus the following year).

Exactly, and IIRC Brock Marion went on the open market twice and wound up coming back to the Fins because of the lack of interest from other teams.

What is it with this Schulters garbage???...

A couple weeks ago, he was reported to be "close" to signing with Miami....

Now, just the other day, after a couple of weeks of silence, he was back in the mix and reported to be "close" to signing again....

Today, it's back to square one....I don't get it???...

Is he "close" or not???...

Personally, I'm getting tired of waiting around for Schulters. If he's not interested in joining us by the time TC gets here{this weekened}, it's time for us to search elsewhere IMO....

PHINZ RULE!!!

You tell em Blitz, get on the phone with Schulters agent adn make something happen.

Instead of pursuing big-name free agents, why don't we let tillman and bell show what they can bring to the team. I'd like to see if our young guys have what it takes to be the big names (or at least solid contributers) of tomorrow. Lance would be great, but by no means are we screwed without him.

I dont think Saban wants to spend more than the minimum on any more 30+ year old players. If he can get Schulters cheap, he'll make a move. But if its going to cost him more than $1 million per year, my guess is that hed rather develop some of the younger guys (Tillman, Bell, etc)

it looks like LAw Buckley and Schulters will sign with a tea come august but the good thing is we should get 1 outta the 3 that is for sure

YES!!! EXACTLY!!! Let his agent play his game, he's going to get underpaid either way and he has no leverage. Let's not act out of desperacy like we did last year!!! Let him make the decision... do you want to be underpaid in Nashville for a team that ditched all of their talent?? or Southern Florida for a team going after every single free agent with value out there?? Not a difficult decision.
