Tannehill - A more athletic Henne?

I was not aware that Tannehill has small hands. That seems like a real concern, never saw it mentioned anywhere.

I like how we draft the 3rd+ best qb and everyone comparing him to dan marino. LoL, what are the stats of 3rd place QB's make it big in the nfl? I'm sure its very low. I think even first overrall drafted QB's haven't done well.

You people are funny.

And you're a n00b.

The tools were there for Henne to succeed, but he was not mentally tough enough to grow into a better QB, and the coaching he got only seved to hinder his growth, not help it.

Tannihill is already way more mentally tough then Henne ever was, is extremely smart, and on top of that, he will have a HC that helped develop 2 QB to be very successful when they started, and an O-Coodinator that helped set a rushing record and passing record in GB when he was HC.

Finally unlike Henne, he will be a vocal leader, and will take charge of a huddle. Bad comparison.

I was actually surprised last year by the amount of athleticism from Henne. I am guessing Daboll gave him the green light to take off when OL broke down and WRs not open which happened regularly early on...15 rushes 112 yards, 7 first downs, 1 TD...over a full season he would have projected to be around 600 yards. Not bad for a robot.

He will be more of a Jay Fiedler or a Jeff Hostettler. He never be good as them, though. He will be one of those journeyman quarterbacks, like David Carr. Im just not impressed by him.

Tannehill's 9 inch hands are a tad on the small size. They are bigger then Patty White's.

You can spin hand size however you want to but bigger is better.

:tubes:

I'm only basing this on the 2011 games vs Texas and Oklahoma, which I happened to see on youtube.

Exactly, basing something off of 2 games is not ideal. I am trying to forget about the last few seasons and Henne. Basically NO MORE Tannehill Henne comparisons!

i've looked all over for henne's hand size, and the numbers i've seen range from 8.25 to 9.25. maybe he took hand stretching exercises?

Based on a quick google search, the average hand size of NFL QBs is 9.5". No way to verify though.
