Tannehill calls out Philbin

If Joe Philbin is not the Miami Dolphins coach come February, remember this thread.

I guess I spoke too soon when I said Tannehill was a coach killer but, at least he dosent throw his coaching staff and teammates under the bus for his failures.

You know what........ STFU Ryan Tannehill. If you had given the coaching staff a reason to think you could do something other than turn it over or go 3 and out and give Buffalo another scoring chance before the half, they wouldnt have tried to kill the clock there. MAN UP and take responsibility for your ****ty play.

Eat **** Ryan Tannehill. Start acting like RG3 and this is going to be a lot worse for you.

Give Philbin a reason besides your ****ty play to start the better QB who is sitting the bench right now. Philbin obviously needs a reason. He clearly isnt smart enough to see Moore gives us the best chance to win. At least Moore would act like a ****ing MAN too and not blame his coaches and teammates if he plays like ****.

**** Ryan Tannehill. Goofy bastard.

Can't tell if you're Matt Moore or not. Tannehill sucked today. That's how it goes against the Bills for him. You relish the moments when Tannehill plays horrible; that's pathetic as a fan. I'm not saying or have ever said Tannehill is better than Moore, but it's the cards that have been dealt and they feel that Tannehill fits this system better. Plus, you don't bench a 3rd year 1st rd draft pick for a journey-man QB until he botches the season or gets injured. He failed to execute for 2 straight games and didn't get help from his receivers except on one spectacular Wallace play. He hasn't answered the call, but he should have zero reason to look over his shoulder for Moore to come in and take his job until it's dire straights.

What I don't like is Tannehill calling out the play calling because it creates a divide and drama between players and coaching staff only 2 games into a season. There is a lot of football left to play and two weeks into the season you shouldn't express displeasure in the play calling.

It's just one game. We are still 1-1 and tied in 2nd in the AFC East with two other teams. Step off the ledge sheeple. People were ready to anoint this team off one big win and now ready to disown the team off one bad loss. Lots of top teams are 1-1 or 0-2 right now. The all-mighty finheaven MVP Matt Ryan looked elite in week one and looked like a joke against a really good defense. **** happens. Keep taking your lithium medications for manic depressive disorders, it's a long season.

Last notes on Tannehill, I just don't think he has the mentality or instincts to be a top level QB. He doesn't seem to grasp what kind of throw is necessary in situations and really limits the play calling. Hopefully he figures it out and it clicks very soon, but if this continues then it's good-bye Tannehill and coaching staff. Lazor abandoned the run game and put it on Tannehill's shoulders and he failed to deliver. It was an ugly game for everyone, but the brunt of the loss should be on Tannehill.

Good on Tanny. Philbin is an awful coach who can't even do something as simple as motivate his players properly, and this will be another wasted season when we all should have known after last year that he didn't have it.

How is this good on Tanny? He took it like a good soldier. If you check the comments in their entirety, he basically made excuses for his coach.

He should have called Philbin out. He should have done it during the game. That attitude is exactly what this team was lacking.

Another stat I just heard: the Dolphins didn't run a play in Buffalo territory in the entire first half.

"indefensible"?? He ran out the clock for an offense that had proven it could do absolutely nothing. There, there's a defense. What do you mean indefensible?

What Philbin did was indefensible, but Tannehill flat out stunk, so he has no right to complain.

His play warranted calling nobody out. He should focus on himself and his play. And do it better. He didn't call out Philbin though. He said what happened.

Miami was a mess in the 1st half. Despite the terrible play, we were only down 9. Getting the game to halftime was the smart move - especially the way we were playing on offense.

Exactly, I don't see what the problem is here? People might be confusing the adjustments we made in the 2nd half that got our offense clicking. In the 1st half we held them to 9 points and proved we couldn't move the ball. So folks, wanted to force the issue with an unproven offensive game plan at that point expecting what exactly? Points????:lol:

The likely out come was a Sack/T.O./ Give Bills ball back with time. Us scoring was probably the least likely thing at that time....

Philbin made a mistake, the kind of play-it-safe mistake you see from coaches who know they are on the hot seat. Regardless of how well Tannehill would have ran it (given the rest of his game, not well), they should have ran it. Sink or swim. If Tannehill somehow managed to pull his head out of his ass and put some points on the board before the half, they'd go into halftime down two with a hell of a lot more confidence. Instead, they settled for limping in to the lockerroom with the coach showing no confidence in his offense. That's poor coaching.

We all know the reason Philbin played it safe is because the way Tannehill was playing there was ZERO chance we were scoring. I generally despise gutless decisions like that but in this case it totally made sense because the odds of Tannehill turning the ball over in that situation if they tried to push it were astronomically high. It shocks me to hear Tannehill talk like this because after the game Philbin has been twisting reality into a pretzel trying not to call out Tannehill for his intensely ****ty play.

Yep. And if you want to see evidence of him turning the ball over in a 2 minute drill, look no further than the end of the game yesterday. Tannehill was driving down the field and he threw a pick. His WR was completely covered and he forced a throw that had 0% chance of completion. Philbin knew this at the end of the first half and played it safe.

There are cracks in the facade. The Philbin Tannehill Era is over.

I dont know who's to blame. I could barely look at the TV at times. I knew it was going to be a rough game, but I didnt think we'd get demolished like this. I'm running out of excuses for both Tannehill and Philbin.

I can't believe people are trying to defend Philbin running out 2:17 of game clock when no matter the situation, that was always one of Tannehill's best opportunities to score.....

I don't care how bad your qb is playing, that is a coach making his bad game worse, incing on the crap cake, cherry on the **** sundae. Let Tannehill take a few shots after we get a couple positive plays....blew my mind.
