Tannehill calls out Philbin

Those coaches have Brees, Wilson, and Brady at QB. Of course they are going to try and score in that situation.

I knew someone would bring up the QBs, well I would say not a coach in the league would do what Philbin did there, even those with crappy QBs. It's an awful message to send. Playing scared never ends with success, I don't care who the QB is.

If he was so concerned with QB botching the 2 minute drill (which is actually something Tannehill has excelled at over the years) why even start him at all at the second half.

Philbin's handling of he end of the first half is indefensible.

I guess I spoke too soon when I said Tannehill was a coach killer but, at least he dosent throw his coaching staff and teammates under the bus for his failures.

You know what........ STFU Ryan Tannehill. If you had given the coaching staff a reason to think you could do something other than turn it over or go 3 and out and give Buffalo another scoring chance before the half, they wouldnt have tried to kill the clock there. MAN UP and take responsibility for your ****ty play.

Eat **** Ryan Tannehill. Start acting like RG3 and this is going to be a lot worse for you.

Give Philbin a reason besides your ****ty play to start the better QB who is sitting the bench right now. Philbin obviously needs a reason. He clearly isnt smart enough to see Moore gives us the best chance to win. At least Moore would act like a ****ing MAN too and not blame his coaches and teammates if he plays like ****.

**** Ryan Tannehill. Goofy bastard.

Knew you were going to say something like this and as well as it is deserved on Ryan Ts, part in the first half Philbin should play to win IMO. If Ryan T plays pittiful when given the chance to lead the quicker we will move on from him too if thats the case.

We all know the reason Philbin played it safe is because the way Tannehill was playing there was ZERO chance we were scoring. I generally despise gutless decisions like that but in this case it totally made sense because the odds of Tannehill turning the ball over in that situation if they tried to push it were astronomically high. It shocks me to hear Tannehill talk like this because after the game Philbin has been twisting reality into a pretzel trying not to call out Tannehill for his intensely ****ty play.

Tannehill was bad today, real bad. His accuracy was bad, wasn't comfortable at all. But even on his worst days, he actually tends to perform well in 2 minute situations. The odds of an INT weren't any higher than any other time. Philbin was just being his typical wuss self.

No, it was Philbin giving up like the coward pansy he is. He doesn't have the cojones to lead a team deep in the playoffs. Could you EVER picture Pete Carrol, Sean Payton, BB or any other championship coach bleeding out the clock in that situation?

We will never win championships with this play not to lose mentality. I thought I was reliving the Wanny glory years for a second...

It has nothing to do with courage. The bills defense was all over the phins when they knew it was a passing situation. The offense had no hope of doing anything good in those circumstances, and a high risk of turning it over and giving up more points. High risk, low reward scenario. Running out the clock so they can make adjustments was smart, and it worked. The offense started moving after Lazor's adjustments.

Mogwai, I disagree. RT has zero chance of scoring if we run til the clock runs out. He has many chances if he throws for 1st downs and moves the chains. He's played in the league for 2 years. If he cannot connect in a 2 minute when the offense is jacked and calling the shots quickly, then he shouldn't be our qb. And if Joe doesn't think RT can do it, then why is he starting?

Am I missing where he called out Philbin? He even said that he didn't believe the offense give him a reason to have faith in them.

I agree those are valid questions and the fact that we have to answer them negatively is probably why it's time to move on from Ryan. We were inside our own 20. Had no momentum. Had shown absolutely nothing on offense. The coaching staff was obviously anxious to make adjustments at halftime. Though I'm always for being aggressive, in this circumstance I understand why the coaching staff was hesitant.

I wouldn't exactly call that "calling him out"...a little overblown there...

I've seen the only reason we've won a game we were behind in for most of the first half be that we scored points in the two minute drill which later proved crucial. When you are behind you need to take advantage of every opportunity to score points, because its not just a matter of needing X amount of points to catch up, its recognizing that a team who has had more success than you at scoring is also going to have as many chances to do so when play resumes.

Everytime Ryan Tannehill throws a pass, the NFL loses credibility as a professional league. Not the players, the actual league.
