Tannehill combined preseason stats: 86.5 QB Rating, Rest of stats below: Discuss

Sure.

But those QB's also don't get stuck in their progressions, or lock onto one receiver with the propensity that Tannehill does either. Also their accuracy and ball location on vertical routes blow him away. And from an intangible (on field leadership) standpoint, they also blow Tannehill away.

Tannehill is Andy Dalton status. Decent, but there's a ceiling to where you can go with him at QB. And that's nowhere.

Tannehill is going into year 3, those guys are 38 years old of course they're better.

Those combined numbers add up to a typical Tannehill game. He played about 60 minutes worth of game time so far this preseason. We scored 16 points I believe with Tannehill at QB.

It all adds up to typical Tannehill and another 7 or 8 win season should our defense be ranked 8th in the league in points allowed like they were last year. If the defense takes a step back we could be staring at a really bad season with even less wins should Tannehill continue at his normal pace.

16 points does not get it done. Put Matt Moore in and this is a playoff team.

The same mouth breathers that complain about Tannehill would complain about whatever rookie we would draft to replace him if he doesnt pan out.
They're stupid like that and love failure.

Solid but not spectacular. We need spectacular.

So if Tannehill turns out to be very good, but not elite, you'd still complain?

Does a typical tannehill game also include not having Wallace/hartline/clay for a good chunk of the game?

Well hey since preseason shows what teams are going to do someone tell Detroit to be pissed. Following a 4-0 preseason in I believe 08 they went 0-16. So preseason means very little.

Did you know a typical Matt Moore game is him going up against the 2s and 3s? Lol

I don't judge anything on a meaningless preseason game. I just hope we don't start seeing the whole excuse machine during the season if we lose. I don't want to hear he has a new line, or a new coach or any of that other excuse crap. I think we can all agree that he needs to step it up this year. Good quaterbacks will make the players around them perform better, so if Tannehill is the real deal, that shouldn't be a problem this year. He has more talent around him now than he has had since he got here, so now or never for Ryan Tannehill.

I think the big question with Tannehill right now is, do you think he is going to improve or regress?

He looked bad last night, but I feel inclined to believe he will continue to get better as a footballl player, rather than worse. Even guys who never amount to anything typically improve over the course of their careers.

I was pretty bummed with the QB's play last night, but let's face it, he is the starting quarterback. We are going to have sixteen REAL games to evaluate over the next four months. Let's see what happens. I think that if he gets comfortable in the offense and shows some improvement over last season, we are a playoff team. I really do. I'm absolutely impressed with what Dennis Hickey did in one off-season. Our offensive line looks night and day compared to last season and so do the running backs Hickey brought in.

So what you are saying is, if Miami started Matt Moore, the rest of the league will sub all their starters and put in their 2nd and 3rd stringers? well **** me sideways. Lets start moore!!!!

Lol all that based off preseason games, you're not even worth arguing with if u base anything off preseason...there's statistical proof that shows preseason means NOTHING about how the Team will perform in the regular season.

People just can't wrap their mind around this.

Yeah dude. It's crazy. Ross called all the teams we are playing and they agreed to play only backups giving us a cake walk to the super bowl and perfect season number 2! .....

Jay Cutler or Tony Romo would be the worst case scenario and a wasted decade. That would be a nightmare. God damn right I would complain.
