Tannehill, deep ball, big plays, and stretching the field

Nobody heard during the game yesterday when yhose buffoons were talking they said they asked tannehill about why theydont push the ball down the field more and he said you need tine to throw the ball and for it to develop. The oline is a major major problem and the tannehill haters write it off as an "excuse".

Looks at Tyrod Taylors deep ball dimes. 2 in one game. Tannehill has never thrown/connected on a deep ball like that for TD and Tyrod did it twice in one game. Hell even henne hit one against the jets.

The offensive line as a whole played pretty well yesterday. Fox struggled later in the game. But, they picked up numerous blitzes and kept a clean pocket we were talking about it in chat.

at what point does your qb manage the game clock better than the coaches do because he has more experience in the offense? That is a sign of a guy who is in his 4th year and has control of the offense

I doubt there is much difference between Miami's boost in that then any other teams. Either way the yards are the yards, I would rather throw a safe pass and get 20 yards the a risky pass and get 20 yards.

Ok, I broke down Ryan Tannehill's "Passing Yards per attempt" by "Air Yards per attempt" and "YAC per attempt". It still looks like an improvement.

2015:
- Air Yards per Attempt: 4.51
- YAC per Attempt: 2.99
- Total Yards per Attempt: 7.5

2014:
- Air Yards per Attempt: 3.53
- YAC per Attempt: 3.37
- Total Yards per Attempt: 6.9

2013:
- Air Yards per Attempt: 3.76
- YAC per Attempt: 2.94
- Total Yards per Attempt: 6.7

2012:
- Air Yards per Attempt: 4.01
- YAC per Attempt: 2.79
- Total Yards per Attempt: 6.8

Additionally, Kenny Stills' 17.4 yds/reception is the highest season average for any Miami receiver during Tannehill's 4 yrs (for receivers with 10+ catches in a season).

Personally, I think air yards are an overrated statistic, since the two best quarterbacks in the AFC over the past 15 years have been guys who primarily rely on short pick plays, but that's still interesting.

Agreed. But we can't please everyone

The elite guys dink and dunk plenty but when Tannehill does- he sucks, can't throw deep, can't do this, can't do that. It's all on him.

Why does everyone that hates on him refuse to share any blame at all? Look im not saying he's elite or even great. Above average FOR NOW. We've seen what defense and a running game do to help out a qb. But haters gon hate. I actually don't think it's just dolphin fans being dumb though, plenty of people in Indiana were saying how bad luck is now and were ready to move on... That team is very similar to us - problems wise.
