### Players are raving about how
Ryan Tannehill
looked at rookie minicamp. “He has both zip and accuracy,” receiver
B.J. Cunningham
said. “Really good touch on his deep balls,” cornerback
Vince Agnew
said.
Troy Aikman
, who dined with Tannehill twice recently, told WQAM’s
Michael Irvin
that he’s a “great pick” for Miami and there’s no reason why he shouldn’t start as a rookie if he wins the job. He is “no-nonsense, a leader, a guy who will put in the time.Very athletic guy. The familiarity with
Mike Sherman's
[offense] is going to help him a lot.”

There's some more tidbits in that article, but I thought this was the best part of it.

It is nice that we are getting positive publicity, but it is still real early...
I take what Irvin and Aikman say's with a grain of salt.
I want Philbin and Sherman to take their time getting him ready, no need to rush him out there.

it's a real challenge to temper the optimisim I have about tannehill. My brain tells me, that a season holding a clipboard would be best for his developement, esp with a rookie head coach etc, but my heart says, best man wins rookie or not.

lol, funny that Marino isn't having dinner with Tannehill but Aikman is.

I have a funny feeling Dan has some hard feelings towards the Fins franchise and puts on a good public image.

So far so good. If he keeps it up in camp and then in the preseason, it won't be easy to sit him

Tannehill's athleticism will always make him look good in practice. The critique on him has been his lapses in decision-making and staring down WRs as evidenced by having three 3 interception games last year, at least one interception in 9 out of 13 games, and 15 interceptions as a senior.

I will look forward to the day Tannehill has rave reviews following an actual game. Dare to dream...

this might be sacrilegious but if I had to choose between a rookie QB getting advice from dan or getting advice from aikman, I go with the guy who experienced a brutal rookie season, and also experienced multiple super bowl wins. I love dan, but there was never any QBs who he helped to develope.

Yeah...guys as gifted as Marino rarely are good at mentoring.

to be fair i'm looking through pro football reference and well... i'm not sure aikman ever helped to groom any qbs either. seriously I think the 90's cowboys did less to address the qb postion than us.

All these people criticizing the WR group I wonder what they're going to say if they turn out to be a strength?

That's why they wound up with Quincy Carter.
