A QB in his 22nd start was a cornerback in highschool just a few years ago yes look it up he started playing QB late in highschool i think senior year. We all wanted to see improvement & he has in some area's & yes all his pocket awareness problems & turnovers are well documented but the kid has lost 5 of his safety blankets in span of 22 games in his career. Bush, fasano, bess, keller, now gibson. Bush was his best friend out of back field last year & rushed for 1,000. He had a good relationship w bess/fasano. He was building chemistry with keller & ireland still till this day wont supply tannehill with a seam threat . Andy reid said last week a seam threat TE & running back outta the back field is a QB's best friend. Ireland has provided his Young QB with neither of them. Now Gibson goes down & tannehill has to hope his small finesse WR's who cant separate can get open so he doesnt panic behind the worst oline in the nfl. Everybody wants to destroy tannehill for the turnovers and rightfully so but he trying to carry an offense without security blankets & familiarity, no run game, small finesse
WR's on the outside. Look at andy daltons weapons. Put tannehill on that offense watch him blossom

Stafford throws 3 ints a game but nobody cares cuz he has guys like calvin johnson who will go up and get it for him fight for the ball. Tannehill gets crucified for holding ball too long well good luck throwing it up to wallace or hartline cuz they aint fighting for **** all they can run is 9 routes and slants

I don't think people get on him for all of his turnovers. And I for one am not saying they are all his fault.

The frustrating thing for me with RT is that he has an NFL arm. He can make solid throws. But he also makes stupid ones. I'm so tired of that deep sideline throw he makes where he trying to drop the ball in on a dime with a safety over the top. He puts too much air under it, and it gets picked off like 90% of the time. That is incredibly frustrating that he continues to try to do that when (i hope) he sees the safety moving over. He doesn't look the safety off enough (or at all sometimes), and that's the frustrating thing is he doesn't make that improvement.

The other part of the turn overs that are his fault is on blitz's he stares down his primary, and you can just watch the play developing into an interception. Defenses know he does this, and this continuously results in a INT or batted ball.

INT's happen, I don't get mad over a well placed ball being picked off. It's just the ones that can be avoided, that we see over and over again. It's like he doesn't learn his lesson sometimes, and that's why its so frustrating to see the same mistake over and over.

Kids got an NFL arm, but he needs to get smarter with the football.

I don't think we expect him to excel (at least I don't). We expect him not to screw up and to learn from his mistakes. Of course, when he's getting pounded week after week he's going to make mistakes. How much of that is his fault?? Some, but definitely not all. Only until he has a reasonably decent pass-blocking OL will we know if he can handle his role...til then for me...jury's still out.

Stop the excuses. Hartline, Wallace, Clay and Matthews are more than capable.

You can make excuses for him all you want. He is not a good Quarterback and we are going to miss the playoffs again largely because of him and his coaches.

Never had one official completion to Keller.

Eventually, excuses have to be replaced with the results happening on the field.

Tannehill, needs to step it up. He needs to cut back on the TO's and to be smarter with the football in the pocket.

I said at the end of last year, I did not want to see these same mistakes by week 8 of this year. Well time is coming, and so are expectations. Patience is a virtue, and in football its a coach killer.

OP stop trying to make excuses for Tannehill EVERY GAME this season he has turned the ball over. Also he needs to run the ball more many, many, many occasions he could just tuck and run the ball instead of taking the sack. Now the Oline has some issues I'm not denying that but you also have to realize that he is at fault at times to and dolphins need to trade him ASAP while his stock is high.

I think you can't argue with any of that. Fasano was the guy he went on vacation with, if you recall. Hartline was his buddy. There were very few he had a connection with. Fasano is gone, I think they kept Hartline not because he's the best WR in the league, but because he provided some security for Tannehill. Keller he was starting to target, and he got hurt immediately.

On Sunday, when Gibson went out, Tannehill was dropping back and waiting for Wallace and Hartline to get open. Oh, and he has Reshard Matthews. Good luck with that. If you brought Peyton Manning in here right now, he'd say, great I have Hartline and Matthews? That's it? No TE? No receiver who can get open? The only player he'd be excited about would be Wallace, but if he drops back and gets no protection, then Wallace's value goes down.

So regardless of what you think about Ryan Tannehill, no, I don't envy him, and I doubt most QB's do right now.

One last observation. IMO, right now our team is made up of a lot of finesse guys, and not a lot of stout football players. Wallace is never going to be the Brandon Marshall type, he's never going to fight for the ball, and he's not going to prevent an interception if he can't catch it. Miller is a finesse back, he practiced with Gore but he's never going to be a runner like Gore, he's always going to be stopped easily. Our QB is finesse. He's not hard-to-bring-down, and doesn't have strong hands to hold onto the football if he's tackled. We would never survive the post-season even if we made it into the playoffs. We are building an offense, it's not fully built.

I got to be honest...I like the Tannehill from last year vs. this year. Last year he managed the game better.

Phil Simms was being interviewed by Big O, and it was fairly interesting. He did say that in year 2, young QB's are asked to manage the game. They're expected to make less mistakes, and I guess that tends to make them more conservative. He said what he'd like out of Tanny is to see him trust his instincts more and go on what he feels during the game, if he feels pressure, run, if he feels he can make a throw, do it. There are going to be interceptions no matter what, with young QB's. You can't stop the learning process.

Simms also said the O line is a problem, and it's largely the scheme, from what he sees. There were no adjustments at halftime to pick up the blitz. So yes, while it's the O linemen, it's not just them. He also says we should have gotten Wallace more involved from day one, and have him run different routes, and mix things up on the offense.

Sounds like someone got over their temper tantrum....
