Tannehill is much improved in short passing game in 2nd year

he had a noodle arm...just cause he completed more vertical than tannehill has to date dont let that fool you...most of those completions the wr stopped completely to make the catch...

arms not remotely in the same ball park with tannehills...and most never for more than 40 yards in the air if that...some nicely placed balls though at times provided it wasn't out of his arms reach
And yet Tannehill was a mere 24th in the league this year with a 3.76 air YPA:

Pennington in 2008 by contrast was 5th in the league with 4.43:

so much for that underneath and intermediate accuracy being not good enough shou ...tannehills accuracy on anything other than the straight vertical is not an issue at all...timing and accuracy and placement keys of the wco and he's plenty good enough...

always was hot air to knock that

Its always been my understanding that the WCO used the short passing game in place of alot of the running game.

Don't get me wrong; The Walsh led Niners were not the Martz led Rams. It seems they passed to Rice on a crossing route more frequently than a dive play by Rathman or Craig.

So much for Pennington being a noodle arm. He threw more long TD passes in 2008 than RT17 did in 2 years.

I like how Pennington was consistent across all the range of passes. Much tougher to defend.

Whats next? Calling Jay Fiedler the master of the 8 yd out route? :chuckle:

Precisely. But I suppose we should feel good about what Tannehill's doing because some folks fashion themselves as having a crystal ball with regard to him. ;)

You hover such a fine line with the TOS.
I dont know if I hate or love you

you should ignore him...it's only a crystal ball cause he can't see it
Due to my awareness of my own limitations, I don't think I'm ever going to be seeing any crystal balls. ;)

If it were both, it would probably be a sign that what I say is typically balanced. :)

I dont need anyone stats to tell me what my eyes see.
Especially compared the other dolphins qb's my eyes have seen.
This kid gets a full 4 years before I would pull him.
Shou gets more out of this than we do

the op brings up how tannehills short game accuracy has improved and captain troll tries to stir the pot with a qbr in the last 2 games and his ypa in those same games which has nothing to do with his overall accuracy in the short game for the year

it's typical...it's sad too

Agreed that Pennington made receivers stop more than RT17 does.

But Pennington was 2 for 4 on passes thrown over 41 yards in the air with 1 TD and QBR of 135.4 in 2008 and excellent when he did decide to air it out.

so 4 passes over 40 yards in a season and you think he made teams respect the entire field huh...2 of which he converted on...come on 71

These posts are always cluster-Fs. You guys always let Shou derail the posts. Nobody has even addressed the OP's topic because of Shou's red herrings. Shou wins again! Good job, buddy.
Shall I help you understand how to use your ignore list? ;)

And yet Tannehill converted on only 3 this year.

You're a troll who derails posts, using numbers as a disguise of objectivity. This is a message board and a community. This isn't 4chan. It would be nice if it was kept cleaner. Do you like dog poop on your lawn? I sure don't.
Once again, shall I help you understand how to use your ignore list?

Once I'm on it, you'll never see another thing I'm putting on anyone's "lawn." :)

i bet you tannehill attempted a whole lot more than 4...no ones gonna respect you vertical if you dont take shots...we just didnt convert...that's the difference...

anyways the threads about improved short game accuracy...lets keep it that way
