Tannehill, Luck ,RG3 , Foles

I still don't understand why so many people on this board were ok w the non-resigning of Bush. He was darn productive here in an offense that didn't accentuate his strengths - proved that he could get it done regardless of how you used him. And when Philbin or Ireland called him a "luxury" (in reference to not wanting to resign him) I just didn't get it - still don't. The dude had over 1500 yards from scrimmage last year w Detroit. F--k me.

I think only a vocal minority of players were happy to see Reggie go. Most of us remember how he TOOK OVER some games in 2011 and 2012 and those days just happened to coincide with the days that Miami put 30+ points on the board.

Makes you think.

This Year:

Tannehill: 419 Passing Yards 3TD's 2 Ints 60.5% Completion Previous Year: 3913 Passing Yards 24 TD'S 17 Ints 60.4% Completion (1-1 beat the Pat's)

Luck: 542 Passing Yards 5 TD'S 3 Ints Previous Year: 3822 Passing Yards 23 TD'S 9 Ints 60.2% Completion ( 0-2 came up short twice in the 4th quarter of each game and played terrible vs Philly)

RG3: 305 Passing Yards 0 TD'S 0 Ints 77.5% Completion Previous Year: 3203 Passing Yards 16 TD'S 12 Ints 60.1% Completion (1-1 Injured yet again)

Foles: 653 Passing Yards 3 TD'S 2 Ints Previous Year: 2891 Passing Yards 27 TD's 2 Ints 64.0% Completion (2-0 not the same QB of last year, Sproles is doing wonders and saving him)

Well, this is hilarious. You forgot to mention how all 3 of the other QB's made the playoffs and R. Tannehill didn't. You also forgot R. Wilson, K. Cousins in this battle. Love how Phin fans pick and choose who enters conversations and who doesn't. Fact of the matter is, we have a poor mans Alex Smith, and NOBODY wants a poor mans Alex Smith.. Especially after drafting him #8 overall in front of clearly better QB's (R. Wilson, N. Foles). Can't help but think that if we hadn't picked up Mike Sherman, we would have never drafted this overdrafted project QB (who will eventually be a backup or a situational WR)

I don't care that Luck lost tonight, that is a mother****ing QB!! I love everything about him. I would lop a nut off with a dull butter knife for Luck right now.

Now that was funny right there.

So I was trying to find a Brian Hartline catch-fall to add to the YAC comments and then I came across the below gem. All hilarity aside, we need to get the ball to Brian Hartline. Where is he this year? Dude can play:

HAHA your so right, we complain about Lamar Miller but anybody with a half a brain knows that Trent Richardson is way worse the Lamar Miller. Secondly, we always fail to mention how awful the Colts interior OL and defense is, like Dolphins are the only ones with OL issues.

Do just cause those 3 are playing ****ty means it's ok for Tannehill to play ****ty?

Stats don't mean ****, when most of the passes thrown are not placed well it becomes a problem.

Anybody watch Foles tonight? So many missed throws and poorly placed balls.

He had way more control/command of that offense in that game then I have ever seen from nose-picking Tannehill. Foles has been putting up major points last year and this year (34 and 30), meanwhile, R. Tannehill is getting his usual 10-17 avg. I dont want to see any more N. Foles comparison or any comparisons to the the QB's from that draft class, we clearly got the worse QB (and luck) in that draft and its nonsensical to compare him to the other guys and best QB's of this league. What we have to hope is Ryan Tannehill turns into the good version of Alex Smith and maybe we can salvage the garbage we took at #8 in the draft.

You could probably chill out a little bit and not give yourself high blood pressure. You came to the wrong thread if you didn't wanna see comparisons to the draft class since this is what this thread is about. Alex Smith's limitation is his arm, Tannehill has a great arm, that comparison makes no sense. Foles missed a lot of passes tonight, he does have a great deep ball though. Foles got over 200 of his yards after the catch, if we had the luxury of playmakers like that and our playcalling improved because that Philly system is so impressive, we'd see some pretty special things. The biggest gripe with Tanny so far is his ball placement, I observed today that Foles was showing similar faults.

Alex Smith has the worst passer rating in the league so far this season (though Tannehill isn't too far ahead of him). Smith is also one of the highest paid QBs. Imagine how Chiefs fans are feeling right now, now and after they go 0-3...

Thats also funny, because all offseason, all I heard was how NOW THAT WE GOT BILL LAZOR from PHILLY OUR OFFENSE IS GONNA BE SOOOOO GOOD! And how Bill Lazor was gonna payoff big time for Tannehill, which is fine, because now we actually see just how limited R. Tannehill is considering this offense paid off big time for M. Vick and N. Foles! R. Tannehill is still same lame duck QB that was drafted and hasnt improved AT ALL. HE SUCKS, get over it, all the people that said it last year are allowed to come back and throw it in all the homers faces. We won, should of drafted Manziel, I think he played 1 play last week but he showed off more movement behind the LoS in that one play then RT has shown in his whole NFL career. How poetic it would have been. I could of saw the headlines already "Manziel steals Tannehill's job in Miami and takes them places that Tannehill couldnt, Just like at Texas A&M"

And P.S. I was tryna say maybe we should start throwing RT's name in posts with guys like A. Smith, J. Flacco, J. Locker.... No more Foles, Luck, Brady, Manning, Brees... those guys are just clearly something Tannehill will never be. Seen enough of him to say it. I will never say he cant win a SB, because Dilfer and Brad Johnson have shown to do it, and in that same formula is the only way RT will win one (great D and run game, hardly have to pass)

It's nice you're not around to post when we win. Hopefully it happens more. Tannehill has shown some regression in this system so far, but I'm gonna give him more than 2 games because he should growth last season and had next to nothing to work with. If he doesn't show improvement throughout the rest of the season then yes we surely move on, but sample sizes are a funny thing and have to be considered. Lazor showed promise in week 1 (remember we put up 33 points, how quickly we forget) so lets see how he comes back after some questionable play calls. We match up very poorly against this Bills team unfortunately. Tannehill has never had issues with ball placement in the past so I'll give him the rest of the season to prove his worth, you're entitled to your opinion, could very well be right if he continues to play the way he has, but talk of his demise is premature.

Once again, a classic example of fans finding someone else to pin the blame on besides R. Tannehill, and we are in the middle of his demise, could be by week 6, RT threw the ball damn near 50 times (and only 241 to show for it, which is what his whole career has looked like). Fans talk up his 3,900 yards last year like its something special, but its not because he threw the ball close to 600 times (588) so 3,913 yards is quite pathetic in that aspect, which brings me back to "we need to run the ball 40 times a game to get the most out of a QB like RT and most importantly, TO HAVE A CHANCE AT WINNING A FOOTBALL GAME."

Blame Lazor all you want, the fact remains that Lazor was better off without RT, same could be said for Mike Wallace. I'm sure if it was up to Lazor and he had the opportunity, he would of brought Nick Foles with him and told RT to kick rocks, I know for sure he would take that bet NOW after two games. Foles was lighting up the scoreboards his first two games in the same system, funny thing is, this system WAS SUPPOSED TO SUIT RT PERFECTLY!

I mean you could argue that Luck's 6.7 YPA (same as Tanny) was pretty pathetic. 570 for 3,822 yards is pathetic. Not saying Luck isn't clearly the better QB. I'm not blaming Lazor, it's a process and it's a new offense with a first time OC. Play calls like that read option on 3rd and short for example can be heaped on Lazor. I could take your word on it, I could also take the coaches word when they say the WR's aren't executing their routes or getting to the right depth. Something that can easily result in poor ball placement, if the guys aren't in the right position. I'm not absolving blame of Tanny, but you're not trying to hear my side anyway so it's all good. As a unit they're underperforming, and I'd be lying if I didn't expect to see a better effort out of Tannehill thus far, but the overreaction on this board is comical, and I see people like you just come out of the woodwork for a couple weeks, slink away and then creep back in when **** hits the fan.

I highlighted the only contribution you truly made today, your mission statement. I'm not a Tannehill supporter nor detractor, but I am a frustrated fan. I will say that its as funny to watch the trolls come out after a bad game as it is to see them slither into hiding after a good game. Unfortunately, some of us cannot win when our teams lose, but I guess you have to pick a side for that. Ill never understand Internet forum politics, or the need to be right in the face of others whose opinions have no impact on our lives. Leave the agendas at home fellas. It's more than O.K to want change at this point, we're playing like ****. For some of you, this is personal....and it really shouldn't be.

Seriously eh. Shouldn't be that hard to have a football discussion without blindly picking sides and making it about "oh I was right in week 2". Shouldn't be personal, I'm not going around rubbing how great Tannehill is in people's faces, I'm not obnoxious about it just cause I'm sitting behind a keyboard. These people are clowns, and it's not because they don't think Tannehill's a good QB, I might have to make an account at thephins at this rate.
