Tannehill Needs To Start From Day 1

Stop putting undo expectations on the kid, he's a rookie, David Garrard and Moore has the game experience.

exactlly what i have been saying. At pick 8 u need an instant starter regardless of the position. If hes not a guy u think can come in and instantly make this team better at whatever position then is a bad pick. Now this really puts pressure on them to draft 2-3 guys in the next 3-4 rounds that have to come on this team and produce because with our current roster we might have a top 5 pick next season aswell. And i would hate to pass on Barkley next year cuz we have Tanny sitting on our bench waiting to get "groomed" for who knows how many years. the 27 pick can sit and learn but a top ten guy needs to play right away and help his team. And sorry its not like we have a furture HOF teaching this kid. we have moore and gerrard, two guys new to the offense and not exactlly good QBs.

Yep, you and I are on the same page. And you make a great point, if Tannehill sits on the bench this year and somehow the Dolphins end up with the #1 or top 5 pick next year, do they take Barkley or think they already have their QB in Tannehill? I would rather have Barkley over Tannehill in that situation.

Why buy green mangoes when you know that they aren't ripe, let it ripen and then eat.

Ya and Luck and Griffin are rookies too and will start from day 1. Newton and Dalton started from day 1 last year. You don't draft a QB at #8 to groom for a few years and sit behind average QB's. If he can't beat them out for the starting job, he shouldn't have been drafted that high to begin with.

Are you guys nuts, or had too much to drink? So if Tannehill starts and the team record is 4-12 you get rid of him and get Barkley? so the team can go 4-12 next year, David and Matt have 1 year left and if this team does well it bodes well for the fan base, then ease Tanny right on in there. Tanny is already familiar with the WCO so why would a GM go and get Barkley? A true dolphins fan would embrace whatever decision is made.

Maybe because Barkley is the better prospect of the two. Do you think the Dolphins would have drafted Tannehill if they had a chance to draft Luck or Griffin instead? I think not.

Who Did Dan Marino beat out? he wasn't a starter day 1 David Woodley was the QB I believe.

Ya and Marino was drafted in the 20's and Woodley had just taken the Dolphins to the Super Bowl the year before. Its night and day from this situation.

Man Look the colts record was awful they had the first pick, just because you're picked 8th doesn't mean to me that they're more talented, Mel Kiper, Mike Golic have messed y'all mind up, if the colts was picking 8th they would have picked Tannehill, answer this question there are 32 QB's in the NFL that starts, how many are first round selections?

First of all, the Colts wouldn't have gotten rid of Manning had they been picking #8. So they might not have drafted Tannehill at #8 knowing they still had Manning on the team.

If you're lucky enough to be selected in the 1st round then that says the player can play some ball, GM's don't draft busts, the player does not perform like he did in college is no reflection on the GM, Charles Rogers the Wr that Detroit selected was one of the best receivers in his class, and look what he turned out to be, the Gm give players the opportunity to excell and make plenty of loot, it up to the player to perform at a high level. people are riding Tannehill without first seeing what the kid can do whenever he gets on the field.

When your drafting in the top 10, you need to draft someone that can play right away and make an impact. You don't draft someone that high hoping he can turn into a great player three years down the road. That's not the spot to be drafting someone that needs time to develop. So by them drafting Tannehill at #8, the guy should be able to come in right away and start. Otherwise it was a wasted pick because your not going to get a return on your investment for awhile, if ever. The Dolphins need impact players now, not projects.

Once Manning had that injury you knew that it was over for peyton in indianapolis, as a matter of fact the colts was glad to get rid of his contract. The team needed rebuilding, and they would've IMO selected whatever Qb that was available to them or go get a FA. They didn't want to pay him anyway. Why you think that they got rid of Polian? and the coaches? This was not going to rebuild with Peyton manningg as QB.

Ya but you don't know that they would have gotten rid of Polian or the coaches if the Colts didn't end up with the #1 pick. Its easy to get rid of those guys and say we are now rebuilding when you know you have the #1 pick and Luck in your back pocket.
