Best player should play doesn't matter who it is. If Tannehill gives us the most pop on offense he should play.

Wow really? I was wondering why the guys from the big bang theory aren't NFL players.
Well, some on here will think just because he knows the playbook that he will be ready to start day one. Just pointing the facts out.
There's a finite number of hours in the day and only seven days in a week. The less time Tannehill has to spend learning the difference between Brown Right and Green Right, the more time he can spend watching Aaron Rodgers tape to learn the nuances of the NFL and how those concepts have to be executed against NFL speed.
He's still going to screw up a lot in training camp. People shouldn't assume the transition will be seamless, as perhaps they might be inclined to. But what I think will help him is that his errors will come less from bewilderment and more from the natural growing pains associated with adjusting to the speed of pro football (or football in general, given his inexperience). The more confined his errors are to certain criteria and circumstances, the more correctable they'll be. In other words, it won't be like he's learning how to do a seven step drop so his timing is off and he misread the defense and called the wrong protection and he and the receiver weren't on the same page relative to the sight adjustment and he threw the ball late and off target.
After a while, mistakes have sort of a cascade effect. Surely we've all had the experience of something slipping out of our left hand which also made us drop something in our right. The best thing to hope for with Tannehill knowing the offense is that his errors won't be quite so numerous and therefore overwhelming.

Tannehill needs to start....when the time and the situation is right! New system, new staff, new everything! I firmly believe Matt Moore has the better shot right ow to kkep us close, especially after the hound of wolves that´s coming at the QB in week 1 @ Houston...He knows the WRs and Tanny needs to learn to adapt to the speed and force on the NFL...also, he ahs many glitches that need to be corrected, including his "staring at wrs " problem, and that cannot be solved by week 1
If he is as talented as they say (and I think) he is...then I see no reason why he shouldn't be our starting quarterback. He "knows" the playbook, comfortable with the calls, and has the confidence to take on the task. Give him the start!! We drafted him NUMBER 8 OVERALL!!! You need to expect a top 10 talent out of college to come in a compete, if he doesn't win the job outright, or is starting by mid season then I would start to second guess the decision to draft him.
Sitting doesn't help as much as people might think, if they have the ability to win and the talent around them to compensate for bad days get him in there. TJ Yates?! if he can take over a talented team and win a playoff game, Tannenhill most definitely can!! The down side is that our Division is a lot tougher than AFC south in that regard...but Our division just got a lot more competitive with the Tanny addition, keep the optimism up and expect greatness.

I'm glad he learns so quickly and can transition his familiarity from A&M, but how is that going to improve his tunnel vision when a quick NFL spy LB reads his eyes and jumps the route? The kid would be an interception machine if we were foolish enough to start him from game 1. Knowing the plays and quickly and correctly making your progressions are two very different things. Tannehill's confidence would be crushed if we threw him to the wolves so unready.
