Tannehill is easily our best QB since Marino, he still has a huge way to go but he has great potential, the first QB that potentially could lead us to a SB since Marino.
I wasn't around to enjoy the Bob Griese era, but he is regarded as one of the all time Dolphin greats who won a Super Bowl. Interesting that he is not in the conversation. I know that in those days they tended to run the ball more often, but he's not up there in yardage in his very best year.

Just because 4,000 yards isn't impressive in this era of nfl football doesn't mean the way Tannehill gets there isn't.
The o line has been nothing to brag about all year which has hurt the run game. Without the run game teams are focused on getting pressure on him and forcing turnovers which puts more pressure on him. It is also without Keller, who was going to be a big part of this offense and losing Gibson against NE, who has been a reliable WR for Tanny.
He is still producing after only playing one full season as a college QB and one full season in the nfl. I think passing the 4,000 yard mark will be very impressive for him this season. He just needs to cut the turnovers and throw more touchdowns but you can't say that him getting 4,000 this season would not be impressive.

It would be impressive especially for a second year QB with a shoulder that was/is injured. I'm guessing he's thrown to Wallace deep like 7 times where its been 10-20 yards under-thrown and the one time he threw it perfect the defender tackled Wallace preventing a lot of yards and a TD (presuming Wallace would catch it). Connect on just half of those and the yards and TD numbers look so much better for both Tanny and Wallace.
Yards are going to get much tougher to come by in the coming weeks though with poorer weather and tougher defenses, the average is probably going to drop by quite a bit.

I like the mauration I`m seeing out of Ryan. He has a bright future with this team. I could care less how many yards he throws for, I just want to see a + in his final TD to INT ratio. Wouldn`t bother me in the least if he didn`t lose any more fumbles the rest of the way too!

Alot of his interceptions this year have been the results from receivers not catching the pass and it tipped in the air and late half/game desperation heaves.
There are areas he has improved on and other areas he's still raw at. At this point in his second season he is night and day less raw than he was as a rook. He is improving, but it's taking longer than we all have hoped or have the patience for.
When he was drafted with the limited experience he had we had to watch his development in the pro game. The beauty is be is developing where other QB's we've had stayed stagnant and did not improve.
He needs better accuracy on his throws that will come from development, he needs to throw the ball away once pressured, that too will come with further development, he needs to show consistent game awareness that too comes with experience and development. He already has shown to be quick at reading defenses, he had learned how to " look off defenders" he had zero ability to do that early last season, Henne never learned how to do that.
The kid is developing, but he's developing slower than you think he should. Give him time, he shows uncanny ability to learn immediately after mistakes and this kid has been developing with limited weapons. The weapons will only get better from here on out with RT getting sharper and refined. He will develop into a very good QB. I watched Brees while stationed in San Diego and he was not a great QB in San Diego he developed and Payton snatched him up and fast tracked him to stardom.
What we may be really missing on this team is a legit QB coach who has experience in fast tracking a developed QB into a star.

On pace for 23 TDs, 18 INTs 3,950 yards. In his second year I would be completely fine with that. The interceptions will come down as he gets more experience (not to mention, a few of them have been those junk picks at the end of games on 4th down).
