Tannehill running

I also want to see him use his legs/athleticism more.

I liked that play design on the mis direction roll out TD pass to Sims. We should use that more. Tannehill needs to throw that a bit more accurately though because it was a circus catch to a relatively open receiver. The problem with Tannehill running, is he's probably gassed on the next play if you're using the no huddle, and it should be followed by a handoff.

Nice change up to see Tanny running. May have caught the Raiders off guard. What do you think?

He caught me off guard once. Then I realized the RB didn't have the ball and Tannehill was already 5 yards downfield with the ball. One thing Tannehill has dramatically improved upon are his fake handoffs. There was a replay where he actually put the ball on the RBs stomach right in the middle of the RB's arm basket, and then pulled it out. He's been very convincing in his play action.

I don't like seeing him run those read option plays, because he doesn't really protect himself from contact very well, but I think it helps him get into the flow of the game and play more instinctively. So from that point of view, yeah, I like to see him take off with the ball a couple of times.

Steve Young used to say that tucking with the ball and taking off helped him get into the game that way, and perhaps there's something to it.

He has improved but PA has always been a strong attribute of Ryan. Sherman just never called PA.

Skip to 2:03. From his rookie year.

Its about f'n time they ran RT17 like thy did yesterday. It creates so much room for the short/mid passing game. RT17 is not like RG3, he actually knows how slide and he's built to take a hit or 2

Remember the big run at Pitt last year? I think it helps our O out big time when the QB can make a few plays per game w his feet.

I'd call that pass to Sims perfection. I didn't find it close to how you're describing it.

I'll admit watching it again, the window is not as open as I thought it was for a throw with less Arch. It was put pretty much in the box it needed to be but not quite perfection. That was probably partly on Sims though because he had to accelerate.
