Tannehill: This team can make the playoffs, run to Super Bowl

I like big picture common sense not flowery adjustment.

It's OK to stop and smell the roses every now and then (esp. preseason with new staff and players). Pretty damn lame to stomp and piss on 'em every time for no good reason other than to blow your own... horn. To each his own. Though I've never seen the point to dwell in pessimism.

Stopping to smell the roses is about taking a moment out of the day to enjoy the beauty of little things and live in the moment... not for pretending that roses are really better than they are.

It was simply a rhetorical reply in regards to the "flowery adjusment" comment.

I'll just never understand when people try to make logical justifications for intentional self delusion. It's one thing if you really believe the Dolphins are going to be a dominating team -- as some of finheaven's undermedicated posters seem to believe -- but when people try to explain their intention delusions in "rational" terms like "it's training camp, can't a guy have a little hope?" then it just becomes sad.

Pardon me, oh wise one. I'll just fall back in line and follow your cutting routine.

Interesting how he talks about Landry being a weapon already, but fails to mention Mathews or Gibson. Great compliment to Landry as a rookie who is becoming impossible to ignore. Excited to see him play in live action.

ironically those are two guys he will hit regularly. I almost wonder if we will have shifts of WR's like Nawlins.

And why is that? Because of a good camp? If your play in camp is super important, legedu Naanee would still be our starter. Let's let the kid get a few actual games in before we start naming the kid who hasn't even played an actual game yet a star. (I know you didn't say that, but I've seen it said)

Right now, out of the receivers, Tannehill has shown the most chemistry in actual games with Hartline and Gibson, why take that away from him? I say if Landry is really good enough to unseat Gibson, show it in pre-season games. If Landry and Gibson are pretty even, I see no reason to rush Landry into the game over Gibson, Landry has all the time in the world to build chemistry with Tannehill. Right now Tannehill has in game chemistry with Gibson, and barring an amazing pre-season from Landry, I say let Landry develop under the vets.

I was going to answer to the post you replied here but will add from yours.

From day 1 that Philbin was hired as coach he has said there are no alpha receivers. The long of what he is saying is we want many WR's who can read a defense with the QB at your particular spot and just get open so RT can deliver the ball to the open guy whoever that is. It is a concept that many dolphins fans either dont recognize or think it is BS.

Its not about who is better than anyone else because injuries happen and its next man up and they want 4-5 guys they can just plug in at any time and place and go without a hitch. They even want the young guys who would be 6-8 to be working on getting to where the top 5 are.

To me its not about Landry and whether he will be better than anyone else. Hartline doesnt drop many. Gibson doesnt and if he does he makes up for it with a big play. Mathews has and will continue to make big plays and catches most everything as well. Landry is just one more guy RT can rely on. Thats it.

Because week to week, teams will cut down your strength and find your weakness. If none of our guys are weak, they cant stop us. Thats why Brady is so good. He is always thinking about getting the ball to 7-8 guys through the course of a game.

Some people aren't happy unless they're bitching.

Makes one wonder about their loyalty to the team.

Reminds me of a fat suburban housewife that got kicked out of bed.

My 2 cents.

oh so this is ok but when jets players talk it's not. Got it.

Talk is talk, it doesn't win or lose games. there are so many reporters asking so many questions that guys say dumb things sometimes but Ryan and Miami have a chance to do it on the field just as our guys do. we'll see what happens.

Hardly. Geno Smith isn't going to be a Top 5 QB in the near future. Dee Milliner isn't the best CB in the NFL. The Dolphins are probably not even going to make the playoffs let alone get to the Super Bowl. It's nice for these guys to have these mindsets but they couldn't be more wrong about themselves.

Posted without a trace of irony. I love it.

here is Geno's actual quote:

"The thing about it is, you have to climb up," Smith told ESPN.com on Saturday after practice. "If I'm No. 32, by this time next year or the year after, I expect to be in the top 5."

“I’m not going to say somebody that plays the same position is better than me,” Milliner said. “Don’t care if they’ve been in the league 10 years and I’ve been here five months. That’s how it’s going to go. I’m the best. I’m not going to say that another man that plays the same position… and say he’s better than me? I can’t do that.”

see how it doesn't look bad when you get the context of the quotes? we live in a headline world where no one reads, they just check out the sensationalized headlines.

Chances are miami makes the playoffs

you have made that same statement every year since 2004, you are 1 for 10.

I'm not sure I have. But this year do you disagree with me? Chances are pretty good if you project tannehill to breakout
