OMG are we really debating this? Look, Chad Henne's stats in his first 1.5 seaons look similar to RT's but are we going to sit here and say he was as good? Hell no! We saw him play and all know the difference in the Atlanta game this year is with RT we go 80 yards for the winning TD. With Henne we go 17 hards and throw a pick. You can't measure "winner-ship" by these stats.
Luck plays like a polished as a 5 year vet - look at all his come from behind wins, clutch play with his feet, etc. Look how much his TD to INT ratio has cut down from rookie year to this year. RT isn't at Luck's level yet - not even close. I love RT - I am a huge supporter and I love how he is developing. But c'mon - Luck is the far better player right now. And I don't want to hear about Luck's "weapons". Donald Brown = Daniel Thomas. TY Hilton < Mike Wallace. Colby Fleener < Brian Hartline. Trent Richardson has been a bust so far. This is the same type of personel on Indy that went 2-14 with Dan Orlovsky at QB. The Colts do not have better offensive weapons than the Phins - except at QB.
Also, Luck doesn't miss a wide open Mike Wallace down the sideline game in/out. Not taking a cheap shot but in my mind RT has to improve in two key areas: pocket awareness / when to use his feet AND his deep ball. His deep ball is flat out terrible. Last year when he was over throwing Hartline (except the one big one in the AZ game) I blamed it on how slow our WRs were. This year, underthrowing Wallace, leading him out of bounds, etc - Matt Moore hits those. Nick Foles hits those. Geno Smith for crying out loud has been hitting those (and he sucks). Andrew Luck most certainly hits those - anyone watch him in the 4th quarter light up the Texans w TY Hilton after doing nothing for the first 3 quarters of the game? Luck my be over-hyped right now but make no mistake - he's the better player right now and it isn't even close. At all. That said, RT's ceiling is very high and he continues to show growth. I love the guy but I have to call it like I see it - use your feet Ryan and learn how to hit the deep throw. And finally, who cares about Andrew Luck? Don't measure yourself to him - or anyone for that matter. Just keep growing and lead us to a world championship!
