Tannehill vs Luck Updated

Luck is doing better with regard to net yards per pass attempt, adjusted net yards per pass attempt, and WPA.

;)

Luck is light years ahead of Tannehill when it comes to pre snap reads and moving in the pocket. A lot of what Luck does is he avoids pressure and sacks to help out his OL. Tannehill doesn't do that (yet).

And yet with less time to thrown then the Great Andrew Luck, he has proven to be more accurate, and Ryan continues to be ranked just one position behind him each year. Is Luck the better QB? Yes, he has proven he is, just not by as much as people think so far.

Will he be the better QB in the future? Probably, odds are very high he will be, but so far the Eye test says Luck is not that much higher then Tannehill skill wise, and the stats tell the same story. Give both QBs 2.5 sec with the same talent, both will carve you up, give both less then 2 sec, and both will be just as effective or ineffective.

even last year he led us to some late game wins including a comeback at Miami. mark was an excellent big moment QB. Did he fail at times? of course, all QBs do but he succeeded more often than not in those big moments late in games. Look it up and watch the tape if you can.

He failed to get his team to win many of those games and his turnovers were often the cause of his team losing. He and Eli have been the worst in the league when it came to turnovers the past several seasons. Josh Freeman even has 9 fourth quarter comebacks (Sanchez has 10). What does that say about your theory you QB comes up big in the 4th quarter? Both suck and they had a lot of opportunities to get their team back in the game because they sucked most of the game. How about the other 52 games when Sanchez didn't have a fourth quarter comeback? He sucked and was just above a career .500 quarterback who rode a strong defense to wins. Sanchez blows JUNK, just say it.

I forgot to post 4th quarter comebacks this year. Tannehill has 2 vs Atlanta and Cinci. Luck has 3 vs Oakland, Houston, and Seattle. Last year there was no comparison.

Ryan has improved a lot more than a number of posters give him credit for in every aspect of his game. He's not yet where he needs to be but, he is coming.

not all 4th qtr comebacks are the same. How many playoff games did Freeman win?

please post the games where mark TOs cost us a close game late? stop deflecting.

To be fair Junc looking at just wins is just as blind as looking at just stats.

But it works for him here, so we need to go with wins only...well, until it does not help him make his point, then we can no longer use the wins comparison.

Right, then stats will matter when he's using stats to make his point. Rofl, dude's nothing but a troll. Anyone who has over 25,000 posts on an arch rival's message board probably has too much time on their hands anyway though.

the Atl win they trailed by 3, is that really a comeback? great job to lead the TD drive and he deserves credit but I hate hearing about comebacks like that.

At Cincy trailed by 3, again great job to get into FG range to send it to OT but the D scored to win the game.

Luck's last comeback he led his team to 15 4th qtr pts to win by 3. Indy trailed 21-3 and 24-6. It was a 12 pt deficit entering 4th

the ones with too much time are the ones that only bash posters instead of actually contributing to a discussion.

What happened in 20011 and 2012, did the great Mark Sanchez just forget how to win playoff games?
No need to deflect, Sanchez has 22 career 4th quarter interceptions, 31% of his career interceptions have come in the 4th.
69 interceptions and 20 career fumbles lost, no one has given away more games than Mark Sanchez.
Like I said, Mark's defense carried him for years. If the Jest didn't have a clown for a QB, they might have won a Super Bowl.
Mark Sanchez blows JUNK, just say it.

we were in the race in 2011.

2012 we had the worst healthy offensive talent around the QB in many years.

we must have had 80s Niners talent to carry a QB as bad as mark that would outplay Tom Brady on the road in the div rd. I love the excuses.

Um, so what you're saying about the comebacks is that luck sucked for 3 quarters, then finally started playing well in the 4th, while Tannehill played consistently enough throughout the game to win at the end. Wow, Tannehill really sucks for that.

I don't know about you, but I think consistency wins in most cases.

RT has 2474 yards, a 6.8 avg, and a 61.2 completion %. Luck has 2430 yards, a 7.0 avg, and a 59.4 completion %.

See those numbers up there, those are what proves he's more accurate.

Excuses for who Sanchez? Why didn't he get to a Super Bowl if he's so great? The teams he had in 2009 and 2010 had the talent everywhere except QB.
Why didn't he make the playoffs in 2011 or 2012 if he's so good?

Because Sanchez sucks and everyone knows it but you and Mark's mother. Just get off his nuts already JUNK. Just say it with me, Mark Sanchez sucks donkey balls.

Yes, Ryan has been amazingly consistent but throwing an INT almost every game.

Most average fans think comp % means a QB is more accurate.

I cannot believe we are having a discussion about Ryan Tannehill being as good as Andrew Luck right now:lol:

The excuses for why we succeeded. If Mark sucked we don't make 2 playoff apps and win 4 ROAD playoff games. if it was so easy why haven't other, more talented teams been able to do it?

And yet the great Mark Sanchez has yet to even make the playoffs since his unprecedented play in his first two year.
Just say it JUNK, Sanchez sucks and you can't get off his jock. Say it with me JUNK, Sanchez blows.

I think the best QB on your roster is Matt Sims. He's not as flashy or "exciting" but I think he'll be your permanent starter soon. At least for the rest of this season.

so do i...but he's nothing to get excited about also
